Re: what do you think
Interseting snippet from Guderian's book 'Panzer Leader' shows Hitler was getting cold feet about Kursk but went ahead with it anyway- GUDERIAN-"It is a matter of profound indifference to the world whether we hold Kursk or not. I repeat my question. Why do we want to attack in the East at all ...

Re: It has been almost 11 weeks without any news on game content
Food for thought- a full year before PC2 was released I asked in the forum what might be holding it up, and a dev said creating the campaigns was causing the delay. So to speed up the basic game release I suggested releasing PC2 without the campaigns but with just a few standalone scens, then relea...

Re: what do you think
A while back... I remarked on this issue. To make It short!..., a program that I watched some years ago… stated that the Russians were provided intelligence-information from the Western-Allies {Enigma-Intelligence}… and so they knew almost right to the minute when the 'German-Assault' was going to ...

Re: what do you think
I don't think its that. I think its the Russians knew what was coming before the Germans launched offensives. the Russians didn't break the code per se but their spy network in London and Switzerland received plenty of valuable information. they also had a mole inside the enigma team. I've been to ...

Re: AO1942??
As in the case of the assault on Moscow... what if a regular winter had taken place instead of the most severest winter in 100 years?... now!... would that have made any difference?... this is not a 'Fantasy-Hypothetical'... and it could easily have just been an alternative situation. That goes for...

Re: AO1942??
Greetings gentlemen. My feelings about historical / non-historical paths are: - Since WW2 in Europe offered countless battles and encounters, there is always plenty of more or less known material to choose from without the need to make things up. But I have to say I really enjoy small non-historica...

Re: AO1942??
I think it is was possible to defeat Soviet Union if: - Germany had Atomic bomb - they won in North Africa (men, tanks, fuel ...) - won Stalingrad, Moscow ... - were better prepared for winter - saved gen. Paulus + army too - didn´t lost or didn´t fight in battle of Britain (so many dead experience...

Re: AO1942??
Judging from the location names, here is my guess on the scenario types: - Rzhev 1942 - defense and then counter-attack, heavy maneuver of your available scarce forces - Demyansk Pocket - same as above - Operation Cerberus - something naval? - Kummersdorf 1942 - a training scenario for armor units? ...

Re: AO1942??
I have a feeling June 24 close to the start of Fall Blau June 28 1942. The Beta has to be announced before the DLC can be released. It is too short for the DLC to be available, but not for the Beta to start. It's a pity delay occurred with 1942, not 1943 DLC - it could have been a perfect cosplay o...

Re: DLC Core Slots
I just hope that some units gets fixed in the process as well. It's just odd when the Hetzer costs more slots than a StuG III or IV. If anything, it should be less. That was the whole point of that vehicle after all, a cheap and small tank-destroyer that can be produced in large numbers. Some time ...

imagine a clock; you first deploy your forces at 12-3 hours area and only focus there; polish troops wont harass you; then you move to 3-6 area and so forth - moving clock-wise cleaning the 3-hour zone at a time.

Reg. 'Eastern' authors: following the USSR collapse, Russia kept the Soviet war archives. It opened up most of them only in 2008 (and closed again in march 2021). Hence any book written prior to that year will be based either on german sources or soviet (but not always compete ones). About the autho...

Best western WWII authors
Gents,
pls drop me some names of the best 'western' WWII authors. I'd like to 'triangulate' what they write vs the point of view of contemporary ex-USSR writers.
Thanks!

Dear developers! It is very sad that so little feedback comes from you to the many inquiries, suggestions, error messages and requests. Why is that? After 1 year of running time of that nice game, more and more players are being added, are getting more modern computers to play the game in the desir...

Re: AO1942 and Beyond
Like many here I dislike the long defensive grind towards an eventual defeat. My suggestion for an alternative timeline would be in AO 1944: The General is given an option to join the July 20th 1944 coup by Staufenberg et al. to remove Hitler. If you refuse to take part in the coup, the regular tim...

Re: Denied Air Force versus Denied Artillery
I am about to reach AO 1939 from SCW and am wondering about negative traits. I have seen some posts by players that say 1939 covers all of the artillery purchases you may need and thus can take Denied Artillery for AO 1940. But where does that leave AO 1939? Is Denied Air Force valid or too tough t...
