What happens to rail if Germany conquers Iraq and then enters Persia and then the Russians enter Persia and retake Iraq? Will the Russians be able to use allied rail gauge in Persia (to rail from Tabriz to Tehran etc) as before? What will happen to Iraqi rail when Russia retakes Baghdad?

Re: Purchase of Fortresses?

Has any consideration or thought been given to the ability to purchase a fortress and place on the board? There would, of course, be some restrictions but it seems that a certain amount of PP and game turns would be required. The biggest issue I see would be how to add the purchase of this asset to...

Yep. I've been gaming since before you were born. The early computers didn't even have hard drives! The early board games were very simple and rudimentary... 3 to 1 odds and roll the dice. Also we had to have soak-off attacks! You dont have to be 70 to remember PC's without hard drives! In my first...

Same here 56. Old AH player. Me Too! and SPI as well... Hey, I guess I'm the young kid then at 53. :D I've heard of AH's D-Day :D (Was just a bit too young to afford and get into it, and a few of the other classics like Third Reich) I do however have a collection of some of AH's great beer and pret...

The primary issue for the Germans for Sea Lion (other than requiring air supremacy) was that it had never undertaken such a large amphibious operation before and did not possess the technology or resources to do so. Instead, they were forced to comandeer and convert various river barges which despit...

The solution to making Sea Lion harder for the axis isnt to try and replicate the Battle of Britain, which cant be done because the game mechanics wont allow it. What should be done instead is to further limit the number of transports and amphibious assaults that the axis player can do (unless they ...

Re: Extra British fighter when France falls

To make the Battle of Britain more historical some beta testers have suggested that Britain should get an extra fighter when France falls. Please vote what you think we should do. What is not historical with the current setup? The Germans had more air units than the Brits so the current set up of t...

You guys never cease to amaze me. Who would have ever thought that someone would have moved a Russian fighter to Malta! In one of my games against Duncan in which he executed the Spain-Persia strategy and did a 1942 Barbarossa, I ended up with about 4 FTRs, 3 TACs, 5 MECHs and 8 INF in Liby...

When adjusting oil production/consumption, we've been using WWII historical results as a touchstone, but as with everything else in this game, the Axis player has the option to play differently than the Germans really did. I wonder how much of what we're seeing is a result of Axis players making a ...

The Germans went into Russia with huge numbers of PZ I and PZ II afvs, which were technically inferior to most Russian afvs, it was the way they were used which made the difference. :D Just a note: Pz Is were withdrawn from most units before the french campaign due to their poor performance in Pola...

Its very argueable, that Sealion add any single PP for germans. You need a) ship lots of forces to conquer isles b) ship them back for further campaigns c)build garrisons d)ship garrisons to the isles Together with casualties owning of Britain for couple of years will not even pay back this expense...

Add one city for each capital over three that the axis controls? In your case that would mean 4 given that you hold Moscow (Paris, Berlin and Rome)...... Or 3 if the allies took Rome as the third city.....

How do you get nine Italian subs? (I know -- by building them.) But given all of the other demands on the Italians' limited PPs (tech investments, unit repairs, land units), don't you have to give up too much to build an additional seven subs beyond the two that the Italians start with? I think thi...

Re: Axis Naval Strategy

What kind of Strategies and tactics are best to use against the Allies in the Atlantic, and Med? From the start of the game I like to post my Uboats off the coast of the USA and catch the convoys coming up the American coast. But once America joins the war this strategy becomes near suicide, and I'...

Hi, Italian navy might as well go on suicide missions because you will lose them within a few turns Nah. In my personal opinion the navy is worth more as a threat if it stays in port and intact than what it's worth if it does a single suicide mission. As a threat to transporters and lone ships crui...
