Can do, but you understand that it won't be exactly the same units as when the German is the player-controlled side? Because humans are (nearly) always better than the AI it would mean making the Germans stronger somehow - numbers, morale, etc - otherwise they will move robotically forward onto the ...

Hi Richard. Thanks for the offer but I'm not sure that it's best if defenders never pursue, and the players know that they won't. I think that might lead to some iffy moves, safe in the knowledge that the longbowmen are rooted to the spot.

Thanks for the comments. To be honest I don't know how to prevent the longbowmen from pursuing across their own pots. I think it's built-in to the underlying scripts (for that troop type if its enemies rout)?

Currently playtesting Sedan 1870, thought a medieval battle next. Looking at Crecy 1346, historically a massacre as the French knights thundered through an arrowstorm into the pits dug to protect the English and Welsh longbowmen, I'm sure players will be more cautious.

In MP games the designer can specify if one side or the other loses in the event of a draw in casualties: it's a good way of forcing that side to attack, so you'd generally choose the one that did historically.

Not being funny but I suppose you've definitely got sound enabled and turned up loud enough?
