Re: Help me Obi-wan

Oh thanks for all the useful tips, I now have a hankering for trying them out - whereas before I seemed to be banging my Flamekin's head against a Galeth all the time. At last a new hope. Thanks again, much appreciated.

Help me Obi-wan

As usual, I'm loving this game, but am struggling to hold it all together. A Shameful admission, but I start out with good plans, but once things start rolling, my economy goes to pot, I focus too much on the twiddling with units, and then I get steam rollered by either, the wildlife, or the AI who ...

Spartan & Digital River - License Problems

I bought Spartan from Slitherine on 10th May 2009, I've changed my PC, so when I come to re-install the game, and run it, I get a Digital River license problem - urging me to buy a license to play it! I backed up the download, but I didn't receive any serial key! I've installed it once on my older P...

I think I patched to 1.60, then installed some of the expansions, and they somehow took my version back to v1.1.0, yet the main game still thinks its at 1.60. Weird stuff. I've started again, and am installing the global catch up 1.2.8 patch, then will have to patch online to 1.60 and just register ...

I've just tried to install my Field of Glory on my new laptop - But I installed v1.00 original, then updated with 1.28, and used the in game update to 1.60. Now I have every expansion, so I went through these in order, without any error messages showing up. But when I run the game, only the Rise of ...

Does the happen in all mode, or just single/multiplayer, etc? I've not played any multiplayer yet, just single player, going through the North Africa campaign. Can you take a look in the error.log file (in My Documents\My Games\BBCBA) next time you see this happen and see whether it has a lot of st...

Animations and Game responsiveness slows to a crawl

I'm experiencing a problem that slowly creeps up on me, the game runs fine for the first few turns, or a few minutes in, and then the animations begin to slow down, and the responsiveness of the UI starts to crawl, so just scrolling around the map becomes a slow and jerky procedure. After several tu...

It's a simplified game to the likes of Spartan and Troy etc, as people have mentioned it seems quite limited in what you can do in a city (you can only produce one thing at a time), and your armies have only 6 units. I think the biggest gripe I have is that the game is very dialogue heavy, every dec...

I like the look of the square bases, is it easy enough to mod them to make them solid colours, or perhaps solid black? Do you think the units would show up better that way?

FoG isn't so much a unit vs unit game, its more about using combinations of units to force the opponent into an unfavourable position he HAS to fight, and ultimately lose. I like you, stumbled in my first few games, because I approached it as any other hex based unit vs unit Panzer General style gam...

Perhaps I've used the term hotseat incorrectly there, apologies. Perhaps blitzing the turns is a better description. My brother and I are 200 miles apart so it will be difficult to play it side by side.

Hotseat Update

Just a comment, I've been running through a few turns with my brother today, hotseating it if you will. Chatting over Skype, and playing a couple of scenarios a piece. And in order to see the new submitted turns, we have to log out of the multiplayer section, and log back in, to get an update of the...
