Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2

Does PC2 have the option to withdraw a unit under siege under your own condition instead of the games' rules/parameters?
For instance, an attacked unit may stand ground but severally damaged when the AI decides for me, while I myself might have decided for an honourable retreat...

Re: At what time should you be content with your (infantry) unit(s) heroes?

If you do chose to disband either one, Id prefer to keep the 2 defense unit.

Re: New Campaign.

I preferred playing AK over SC, since I prefer the German units over the Russian ones. RC has it challenges though and is not quite the opposite from the German Eastern campaign. If you are interested, there are some interesting AK mods available, but you may also just start with the AK campaign its...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #9

One of my frustrations of PC is the fact that a retreating ai unit ends up in a Hex position which is more profitable for that unit in the next turn... Probably unsolvable but still...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #9

So many players - so many preferences ;-). I do like the random maps, in other games it provided a never ending option to keep playing the game, long after the regular (historical) scenarios have been played. The emphasize, as only natural, is on the historical maps, but I guess PC2 will provide tho...

Re: DLC: Captured Units

OK, this is my final effort that should include everything in US Corps/Soviet Corps through the end. As Pete Mitchell said, I looked at both the scenario parameters in the scenario editor and compared them with the messages listed at the end of the specific scenario .pzloc files in the Data folders...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #8

I understand why people also want smarter and more challenging AI, but I have to be devil's advocate here and say that isn't really conductive to long campaigns, especially not Grand Campaign long. If you play chess and trade down pieces the entire game and win with 3 pieces left against 1 enemy......

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #8

Hopefully The A.I. is some faster in Panzer Corps 2 - Order of Battle, Panzer Corps and also Strategic Command arent playable - to much waiting between turns. In other modern wargames you have to wait only 1-2 minutes. In OoB and Strategic Command it takes sometimes 20-30 min ! I think the devs hav...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #8

On the topic of the AI attacking: well, as an example... I think there is still a small problem when you are in an entrenched position (maybe with artillery in the back or maybe even surrounded by AI troops at Manstein strength) and none of the AI units that are facing you is attacking you because ...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #8

In the past 5 years I guess I played the PC Vanilla, DLC's and PK numerous times - and have only recently started the Soviet Corps Campaign. What I thought strange sometimes, was the fact that German defensive scenarios (beating off Russian attacks) in fact gave victory when gaining ground instead ...

Steven J Zaloga has written some interesting "Tank vs. Tank" books, including the T34, Sherman and Panther, with similar interesting outcome - for me at least.

I dont want to be included in ...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #8

Please remove the silly possibility of an infantry unit of damaging a capital ship. It always amazes me how often the "I want it realistic" crowd actually doesn't know what is realistic. Often it comes down to a lack of imagination- picturing an infantry unit as a couple boys with rifles instead of...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #8

Please remove the silly possibility of an infantry unit of damaging a capital ship. And you could read about the capture of the dutch fleet at Den Helder in which a cavalry charge captured 14 ships (it's possible to stand on water depending on the conditions, again that's where lack of imagination ...
