Too close to the start of the school year for me, unfortunately.

Also there's a bit of possessive apostrophe abuse in the QRS with "4's", "5's" and "6's" instead of 4s, 5s, 6s.

Re: NICon 2017
I'm not after a long game, merely a game that doesn't punish me for a single mistake or unfortunate run of CTs.
IMO counting wavering units towards army loss rewards the dice rather than the man.

Re: NICon 2017
How many games were timed out?
It's my opinion over the past few months that the games are too fast now. There is precious little chance of recovering a bad situation - reserves can't get to an area to influence a reversal, a turn of bad luck can't be salvaged before you lose.

Re: v2 lists - Lances
The whole concept of a bonus for Lance's is spurious in the least. Two dice for +8 points is much better than any other upgrade for attachments etc. The only difference between lancers and other light cavalry is just a long stick. In reality the difference in our scale is negligible. A large lancer ...

Rating them as veteran as they will be able to coordinate the individual units better. The French should have a built in advantage of better quality commanders anyway.

Re: Jaegers, Voltiguers, Tirraileurs, Fusiliers and Light In
Although early Imperial French cavalry regiments fought together in the same brigades and divisions for a number of years. They may not have been the best horsemen man-for-man as some of the others, but when it came to their officers knowing the abilities of their units and ability to co-ordinate th...

Only firing at close range dramatically reduces the building's zone of cotrol to a point where it is easy to ignore the enemy in it

Give it to me please! I've done one for Prussia 1813-14, just need the actual file to make it all kosher. Also done one for Wallmoden's corps.

I think Kit and All want to have a go. They pretty much tell us every club meeting what's wrong and how it should be corrected!

Re: FOG N 2nd Edition - it's back!
A base of artillery represents a battery of 6-8 guns. So 2 bases makes 12-16 guns - a small unit. An attachment is closely supporting the unit it is assigned to. It has less dice, especially at long range but can move within 6MU easily. Artillery units get to fire at long range, provide ACV and have...

Re: Road movement by Commanders
But is a commander a unit? Only units go double speed on roads.
After all, if they could move at double along a road, would they also go 8MU during the recovery phase?

Just play normal Swiss Chess with your first round draw.
If Andrew needs to go to the wedding I'll substitute in for that game.

Re: Question on 1812 French
The Cavalry corps list still has to follow the rules set out in that list so you can only take heavy OR light cavalry divisions. As you are only allowed one division it must be a heavy division or a light division. As to the cavalry minima for the Infantry list, it is rather ambiguous. Nothing is st...
