Re: Movement rules - joining of two forces
... P.S. : what exactly are roads doing related to army-movement (some sort of discount i think but how does it work out?) thats an easier one, the who is the attacker etc is sort of clear but its not something you can influence (unless you start in the region and have no move orders at all). ok, a...

Re: Exporting battles to FOG2 and back to FOGE too much work?
He's answered your question.
you decide to export the battle, it opens FOG2, FOGE goes into pause (it can't do anything till you return with the battle result), play the battle in FOG2, close it, FOGE re-opens, picks up the battle report and proceeds to process the rest of the turn

Re: Movement rules - joining of two forces
there is a random element, each 'phase' in the movement turn sees every available unit expend 1 MP (sooner or later units start to drop out as they have expended all their potential move allowance). In many situations the unit may not move a province till it has accumulated enough phases to pay the ...

Re: MP Export?
the phasing is nearly impossible to resolve. and a turn could take a long time to run. For eg, battle between 2 players occurs in the first impulse. They have to decide (both? just one?) to take to FoG2, fight and return. In the meantime (FoW) the other player(s) are completely unaware of why the tu...

one small bit, by using two armies, and all the swapping of units between commands, you are chucking away a lot of experience as units and commanders don't match. ... . ... This makes it even more important to know which general will command if 2 armies fight together (as you might actually loose a...

Re: Another impossible-to-loose battle lost (5 battle bugs)
one small bit, by using two armies, and all the swapping of units between commands, you are chucking away a lot of experience as units and commanders don't match. worth remembering, if you send two armies into a region and they arrive and fight together, they are 'merged' so one group of units picks...

Re: Concerns about combat and FoG II Integration
1 - I solved this one by taking the option in FoG2 for armies to be inflated, I think you can go up to 50%. That seems to avoid the issue of a small elite army that can get swamped. 2 - is actually bad news, if I recall right, its really a penalty for the weaker commander to reflect some of their ar...

Re: I was led to believe that I could "play tall"?
I was led to believe that I could "play tall"? But it seems to me that regions seem to be the major factor in legacy computation. Thus, the game seems to encourage not painting the entire map, but painting more of the map than any serious competitor. Am I missing something? Thanks. I'd reverse your...

if you go to 'groups' in the set up files you can amend leader bias - raise or lower this and you change the likelihood of getting decent rulers & generals

fine if you have absolute superiority, I was suggesting how to manage close escort with the fleet in its own stack.

Re: I am confused by amphibious ops???
I never combine a fleet and an army. Gain sea control with your fleet. Know where the enemy ships are and neutralize them. Then move your army in safety with its commander in charge. Good luck! its simpler than that, just make sure the fleet and the army enter a region in the same sub-phase during ...

Re: Playing on EXPERIENCE 150 turns in - Supply?
overland supply in Empires is fairly straightforward, as long as you have control over at least one neighbouring region, food will be turned to supply and sent to you. if you have landed say in N Africa, supply can come from a fleet off shore, you'll need to do some rotating but its simpler than the...

Re: When I get the msg "Harsh weather next turn"?
in effect the next turn will be 'winter'. The impact of this will vary from reduced battle frontage to blocked regions (mountains will be impassable). In the deserts you can get sandstorms - similar effect. Note that both blizzards and sandstorms can hit at any turn, just more likely in the winter t...

you missed this section: In larger battles the unit conversion ratio is down-scaled to keep the number of units manageable This is really bull shit.I have controled 61 units in FOG2's epic battle Chalons(I'm on the Hunnic side) but I still can well manage them.Just want an at least 1:1 conversion. ...

Re: Some units when export battle to FOG2 will missing
you missed this section: In larger battles the unit conversion ratio is down-scaled to keep the number of units manageable You can partially control for this within FoG2 as you can adjust the conversion rate from the baserate up to about +50% (ie you get larger armies and thus more chance of small u...
