Re: Sad that nothing more will go into FOGE or FOG2
Honestly, I think FOGE is a GEM One thing I didn't add in my response to you is that I LOVE the culture/decadence/progress/legacy mechanic. It is a real and rare innovation in grand strategy games and a lot of my disappointment stems from not having a game containing such a fresh mechanic continue ...

Re: Sad that nothing more will go into FOGE or FOG2
Honestly, I think FOGE is a GEM, and a very different ancient experience at a very fair price. There are some UI areas which could use some work like naval embarkation/debarkation. But you can live with it. My only issue was that the there are 2 fatal technical bugs (I mean game ending; not balance...

Re: Sad that nothing more will go into FOGE or FOG2
I quite regularly test betas through Steam so I'd be interested in doing this. I've actually been holding off buying the dlc waiting to seeing what on-going support the game was getting. Honestly, I think FOGE is a GEM, and a very different ancient experience at a very fair price. There are some UI...

Re: Sad that nothing more will go into FOGE or FOG2
Perhaps as a Public Beta on Steam, if people are willing to try it? this if it is not confusing for the players would be ideal solution. But dont forget us playing the game on gog platform please! That's only realistically feasible through Steam, as there is an 'opt-in' system where you can switch ...

Re: Do you like randomized build options? Why?
So, what do you think of this approach? Game changer breaking new ground? Or frustrating, because you want to relieve the general who won't have his legions build a road, but would rather build brick walls? I'm on the fence about it, mildly leaning to negative. Stellaris has this for choosing resea...

Re: Any UI hints and tips re managing armies?
Thanks very much for the info. So does that mean deserts, for example, would have 8 infantry melee units in the front rank flanked by 4 cavalry on each wing of the front rank and a rear rank of 16 support units? Also is the ratio of infantry melee:cavalry:support 1:1:2 for all terrain or are their e...

Re: Any UI hints and tips re managing armies?
I agree that splitting/organizing armies is a little too fiddly and could use some streamlining. But I have to say you are inflicting the problem on yourself. No way you should have stacks of 50-100 units. Beyond maybe 30 it adds nothing to your combat capability, devours all the supply in a region...

Any UI hints and tips re managing armies?
I've now got a few large armies roaming the map and I'm finding the task of splitting them up for specific missions time consuming so I wonder if there is something I'm missing about this. Can all the unitis in the "stacks" (not sure what they are called - the groupings of units by type in...

It would also be nice to be able to sort by clicking the columns rather than having to use the drop down.

Re: Provinces and unit XP
Thanks. What about manpower discounts and the bonus for heavy mounts both in non-capital buildings?

Provinces and unit XP
Am I right in my understanding that only buildings in the province capital with an XP bonus give that bonus to newly built units?

Re: Request: More trade goods information
You would need very advanced and yet understandable tools to get all the info you need easily and rapidly... Thanks for the reply. The problem is that you've created a kind of production chain mini-game but without the interface elements to engage with it in a way that doesn't require a lot of clic...

Request: More trade goods information
When I'm trying to decide what to build in a given region I'd like to know what bonus trade goods adjacent regions need and which regions within trade range (and beyond) are importing foreign goods or paying the penalty rate becuase no goods are in range. Currently, unless I'm missing something, I h...

Re: My take on exporting battles
In a 2 step video, Chris Webber, showed that the difference between FOGE vs FOG2 resolution is not that substantial. Note: an important factor is that Chris is an expert FOG2 player. In FOGE we have units that suffer terrain penalties (like legions in woods). In FOGE, the terrain is always homogene...

Re: Region not on list for peace deal
OK, so I decided to conclude a peace deal without asking for Aetolia (because I couldn't) to see what happened and I was able to keep it. The only other war going on with me is with Pergamon and they've not been near the region (yet). There was a war going on between Epirus and Macedonia at the same...

Region not on list for peace deal
I’m playing Athens at war with Macedonia and I’m proposing a peace treaty and Aeotolia is not on the region list (I occupy it). Is this a bug or am I missing something, e.g. something to do with the oracle?

Diplomatic deal percentages and resolution
I was looking in the manual for this but didn't see the answer. What is the process for resolving deal proposals? Is it, during turn 1, I propose the deal which gets sent at the end of the turn. Then during turn 2 resolution an RNG result is compared to the percentage and I'm informed about the resu...

Re: Tips on playing Athens?
Cephallonia was independent. I took Corcyra from Epirus. It may be an indie in your game, though. My mistake. I was actually thinking of Cephallonia. I was thinking of using my Rhodus game as a template and send the Athenians off to conquer Phanageria, Alani and Sarmatia. Good luck! Sounds like you...

Re: Tips on playing Athens?
Disband the fleet and hire two mercenary cavalry. Then invade Ionia, western Creta and then eastern Creta. Form the province of Creta Rhodus. Aetolia and Antigonids offered me sweet deals for Cretan Archers. Then add a few Light cavalry and invade Cephallonia. Epirus was at war with my ally Aetolia...
