Re: Tournament diary and news . . .

Just to let you all know that I am experiencing serious laptop problems at the moment. I have a new one ordered, which should arrive early next week. I hope to be able to do the Sunday round-up as normal provided my current lap tap is able to cope with it all. It's all for a reason Pete....It will ...

I'm up for joining the game.
I'm up for playing as anyone, as I have a pre-release of the game, I'm happy to take a weaker Nation, you know, someone like Rome.

Parthia would be fun though.

I have sent you a PM :-)

I expect I will not use the FOG2 battle system at all. AS for my starting country, Canada seems to be missing for some odd reason so I'll go back a few generations to the Irish
It is a curious thing that the Canadian sack of Rome in 296BCE was glossed over......

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

The more I have seen the Empires battle system since my original post then the more I like it to be honest and though others will differ I doubt I will be using FoG2 to play out many battles if any... I agree completely. Watching streamers, I very much like the Empires battle system, and feel that ...

Re: Last few hours to vote in the poll on the new "Allies" feature

I've said it before and I will say it again. I prefer having a few battles in my group where the armies are of similar makeup. Its a better test than facing a horde of skirmishers or a MF army hiding in a patch of woodland every other game. This is exactly my point too Ian. I hear what you say Pete...

Re: Just 1 day left to vote in the poll on the new "Allies" feature

My only slight reservation would be about be about lumping all the Arabs and Indians together. To me that's like saying all the Macedonian successors are one group, and only one could be chosen. I could see lumping Arab city, Bedouin and conquest lists as one set as they are all centered on Arabia....

Re: War Declaration 're Client States

Not for now, you can only give cash to a client state. But a client state can relinquish a region which is surrounded by 3+ regions of his protector (or even adjacent to a region of his protector, if it is also one of the protector objective). Supply sharing is done between allies and client states...

Division B devoncop (Jewish revolt) beat Triarii (Kingdom of Soissons) 45% to 20% A beast of a map for the Roman army with hills woods and rough terrain saw them frantically trying to hold an elevated hill in the NW corner....Unexpected resilience from the Jewish irregular foot combined with the usu...

Re: War Declaration 're Client States

Is it possible to gift a Client State a region rather than cash ?😏 I know this would not be common but it would presumably improve relations and may also consolidate territory more rationally on occasion if it involved a less valuable non objective region that had been conquered to avoid the ongoing...

Wow! Thanks, Devoncop.

No problem.

All of the players are learning and don't understand some of the mechanics but I still pick up some useful nfo from the playthroughs and hopefully you do too.

Division B devoncop (Arkanian) beat Paul McNeil 57% to 32% on the very last turn. A highly wooded and hilly map saw the Arkanians having serious problems against mass Javelin Cavalry and Thracian medium foot that came streaming out of the woods mid game. Paul was very unlucky with rallies and perhap...

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

Hopefully I won't be a buzzkill and you all know about this restriction, but you do know that you can't play FOG2 battles in multiplayer? Just saying ... That said, the Empires battle system has its own merits, I can assure you! Not a buzzkill at all Pocus. I was talking about my first proper Singl...

War Declaration 're Client States

Hi

Can anyone confirm if a declaration of war on a Client State of a third power automatically counts as a declaration of war on the third power as well or not ?

(Purely hypothetical question in case any of my upcoming MP opponents read this :D )

Just post a new challenge yourself with no password between the two nations you want to fight it out.

It will then get picked up by another player.

Easy :D

OK, the manual explains it. "Ambusher" is for forests, "Guerilla Warrior" is for hills and mountains. Let's hope the zealots end up led by a series of cowards and spendthrifts then :D You realize that it'll be better for you to have a semi-strong Judea as a buffer state between you and Antigonus, r...
