Re: Two easy-to-fix "bugs" with huge impacts on gameplay

A year later, and movement between Namur and Fosse is still broken. Is anyone ever going to fix this bug?

Re: Movement Bug

Another bug in the new release: I’ve got a game now where the other player has passed, and I’m clicking the ‘continue’ box so I can move, but the continue box won’t go away and I can’t move.

Yes, I’ve seen this same bug. Seems to occur only during the planned attacks. Very irritating.

Re: Desert Fox no longer on AppStore?

Desert Fox is pretty buggy. I’ve still got a playable version on one of my devices. I play it from time to time but truth be told, the game wasn’t finished. We were still reporting problems the day they released it, and aside from bugs, the play balance is way off as they never had time to tune it.

Re: Next: Operation Market Garden will be a promising one!

When Slitherine bought Shenandoah, there was already a Market Garden game in development. I know because I did initial play testing on it using Vassal. So the game design is there, ready for development, if you got Shenandoah's intellectual property. You really have to ask why Slitherine bought She...

Re: Another bug

No saves, but it is trivial to reproduce and ought to be easy to find. Somewhere there is some code governing attacking across a river from > 1 space away. That code should allow the move if there is another friendly in the target space, that was there before the current impulse; and disallow it if ...

Another bug

Are any of these bugs going to be fixed? The game permits a player to violate movement rules when crossing a river. The game should not permit an attack across a bridge from more than one space away unless there is already another friendly unit in the target space. What the game actually does is all...

Re: Hit calculator

For what it's worth, I had this same suspicion with the original Shenandoah versions of the game. It was my consistent impression that the combat predictor histogram did not consistently reflect the actual results of combat over multiple combats. Shenandoah's developers insisted that the histogram w...

Re: Desert Fox no longer on AppStore?

As one of the play testers for Desert Fox, I'd say the game was released before it was ready, not just in terms of being reasonably bug-free but also in terms of playability and balance. It was clear at the time that Shenandoah were under pressure to get it out, but I recall that the consensus of th...

If I can offer a different perspective as a long-time software exec, when you acquire another company and inherit their products, the customer expectation is that you will support their products as if you were they. I wasn't happy with the way Slitherine surprised us with a poorly executed rewrite o...

Two bugs

I've not played in a while, and I'm playing now, and I'm surprised to see that these two bugs still exist: 1) movement of mobile units (mechanized and armor) does not permit you to move from one space to another along a road and then return to the original space. This is a very common move used eith...

Good grief! Why not have a solution the doesn't permit cheating, rather than a claim - one hard to believe! - that you devote human resources to catching cheaters?

No, I see the units highlighted for advance, but they never complete the move.
