Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

More list points mitigates the likelihood of enjoyment. I just want to say that people enjoy the Digital League but the slight majority who want all games to be 1600 points are likely to get their wish in the end. But, they are going to have less players to play. There is nothing wrong I think with...

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

Sounds great. Two questions: 1. When is next DL season scheduled to start? 2. Has anyone observed any noticeable tendency for different results in Large vs Medium, such as more/fewer 4p, 3p, ties, draws, etc.? (No, it will not affect my preferences and choices... ;) It's just out of curiosity.) The...

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

@Pete Any chance we could get a rotation which divisions we get the 1200 pt format in? No, there is not going to be a rotation as it will cause confusion among those players who do not read the instructions properly. Because I am dealing with a large number of players I have to use systems that are...

Re: I've lost 11 games.

In some preseason pick-ed up games I have been playing some players new to the rigors of MP. I find that the first place to look for easily fixable errors is falling for the "auto-flank"...allowing a unit to be attacked in such a way that they turn to oppose the attacker and expose their flank to an...

Re: SnuggleBunny's FoGII, Pike n Shot, Sengoku MP Channel

From what I see, I think you're all pretty good. I enjoy and learn a lot from listening to the way you guys are reasoning and watching the way you play out your moves; in which order, etc. But sure, just watched Ludendorf play the Epic Battle of Nineveh versus Deity AI on YouTube, and those thought...

Re: Ludendorf has won Classical Antiquity Division A!

He returns from retirement and triumphs....congrats!

Even Maximus Meridius would tremble! for Ludendorf is better that the Tigris of Gaul.

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

What you could do is make large battles optional where if both parties would like to use large armies than they are permitted to use said format for their match. If either player would prefer medium size than it automatically defaults to medium. To minimize administration when players sign up for a...

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

I voted no. I like having the mix of medium and large armies and people can choose which sections to join. Perhaps we could mixed it up further by alternating the divisions that have 1600 points in any one season. Classic Antiquity is 1200 this season and next it is 1600, then 1200 etc....allows pl...

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

70% feels high to me. I am thinking that a 70% threshold is designed to minimize the loss of players. If it is desired to minimize player defection, 60% seems like a strong vote to at least add one more division to the 1600 point threshold, if not both. I'll sign up for my 4 divisions regardless. I...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

I understand how people become frustrated with the RNG (and other macro/micro game mechanics). I have played in over 600 games now since FOGII came out and there are indeed maybe 4-6 games I vividly recall where extreme outlier results won me/cost me the game...or so I believe....I remind myself tha...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

I could run a poll to see what the wider view of such a change might be. If I was captain Picard to you, I would say: https://i.pinimg.com/236x/dc/df/5b/dcdf5b42acb95fa3551faa23a2f1e9e4--funny-memes-funny-shit.jpg But as it is just me, I would say "The outcome of the poll might be quite predictable...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

This thread seems to have meandered far and wide of late but I definitely want to weigh in to say I prefer 1600 point battles for the reasons Swuul wrote. I know one idea against this is the extra time it takes to set up and play turns....i dont think that this is a significant objection, I am equal...
