Re: DLC '45 #1 Goldap

This one went well for the most part...lost four units by the end of it...all infantry unfortunately. I have a feeling I will regret these going forward. Used the default core.

Re: DLC '44 #2: Korsun Breakout

Came in with the starting core minus a couple of units-mainly the Nashorn. Had some 4000 prestige after upgrades and overstrengths. Managed to take Hill 239 quickly and then drove across the river though my original force was a little light and got mauled by the Russians moving to the river. However...

Re: DLC '44 #1: Korsun Pocket

I started this one on the pre-set core. I find scenarios like this one quite enjoyable as I switch units from one hot spot to another. Got a DV on turn 12 after losing a Nashhorn and one other unit I can't recall at the moment. The IS's are rather difficult to defeat but with the help of Stuka's, th...

Ponyri

I decided to start with the northern pincer led by Model. It certainly is more infantry/artillery orientated. Came in with a core reinforced but not greatly enhanced (2 Tigers/3 Panthers-rest are IVH, IIIN and IIIM). I spent too much originally on upgrading all my fighters to 190's and my Stuka to 1...

Re: DLC 43 - beta 2: Orel

Came into this one with 3200 prestige and full roster of units. Did a number of reinforcements and a couple of over strengths but wanted to keep a fair reserve of prestige given my previous experience with this scenario. I started off by railing a number of units south to support the Italians while ...

Re: Belgorod 43 V2

Went through this one with a slightly expanded core...another SE tank (Mk IIIL) and an Su-122. Kept same core with only two Tigers. This one went quite well again. I managed to storm across the Donets in SE while driving strongly at Belgorod. The AI made a number of foolish attempts to storm the riv...

Re: DLC 43 Kharkov

Second time through on the new build...for whatever reason, it seemed easier. Started with core from '42 and 3200 prestige. Upgraded two tanks to Tiger I's and got rest up to strength. Got a bonus SE tank too. Upon thinking about it, having a full roster of units is great help as defense can be made...

Re: DLC 43 Kharkov

First, my thanks for selecting me for this beta. General level Imported core Starting prestige-3264 (level from last scenario in DLC'42). Ended with about 800-managed a couple of upgrades by disbanding a Sherman and KV-1B but lost two core (one grenadier, one 88mm) . Have six open spots I cannot aff...

Somewhat related on the topic of heroes...I remember seeing some talk about having heroes with multiple abilities based on historical figures (i.e. Wittman, etc.). Is this still in the offing?

As with the first time through on the initial build, difficult and challenging. I lost a couple of corps infantry units which hurt and suffered some pretty significant losses that drained prestige. Was pretty impressed by a couple of the AI's counterattacks with hordes of SMG infantry but I managed ...

Second build play through was much the same as the first...good fun, enjoyable destroying Shermans and Valentines en masses. But best of all, the SU122 is still a prize. Such a versatile unit.

Good stuff!

Easier? Not a chance...about as challenging I would say...looking forward to going through it on the new build.

Second time through on the new build...worked out ok though the AI killed my recon unit when it was just gaining experience. It also took out a para unit that was also starting to come into its own. This time, the Russian units in the NE actually moved (I didn't blunder into them right off the bat t...

Second time through on the new build. Soviet counterattack was fairly strong but I had a solid front of armour to oppose it. Could have been worse if I didn't have the line in tact though. The rest was pretty straightforward. DV on second last turn. Ended up losing a special PzIIIL because of my stu...

Run through on second build...no issues and similar result. If the attack had turned north towards Moscow instead of south to Stalingrad, things might have turned out different. STAVKA was quite worried about the left hook at the time.

Second time through with the new build...did not miss the aux Matilda. However, I did convert my captured Matilda and a Char 1B to PzIIIN (I did learn a little going through the first time :-) ) for the city fighting. Overall, I found the scenario to be challenging much like the first time through. ...

Re-played in the new build...achieved a DV in 11 turns. The Russian counterattack on the right flank was a little stronger this time which caused some problems. The attack on the left was more easily dealt with as I had a little better concentration of force there. The addition of a Guards unit defe...

Replayed this one on the new build. Had pretty much the same result as the first time through-DV in nine turns. The northern pincer in this one seemed to be particularly unopposed until it reached the major objective hex area. Then it got a little more dicey. The southern pincer romped along raising...

I re-started the campaign using the two new builds (general level-imported core). If anything, this one got a little tougher in my opinion. The attack on the west side of the salient was stronger, the AI reaction/activation of units was more timely creating challenges in multiple locations on the ma...
