Re: No impact foot for Ostrogoths army list?

How do we classify the unit in history as impact foot or not? Usually either aggressive warband-style units that throw something and charge with sword, or troops like Romans and Spanish who throw heavy javelins and then charge with sword. There is no evidence that the pre-493 AD Ostrogoths themselv...

Re: Grand Christmas FoG 2 Tourney Error?

It appears to have corrected itself now. Sometimes there is a delay before it updates. What happened was (almost certainly) not a bug. The game returns a "snapshot" score to the tournament system when each turn is uploaded. This takes into account whether victory would occur if there was no change t...

Re: No impact foot for Ostrogoths army list?

I think they were not only have spearmen, they should have some impact foot like Irregular foots or some else. The Ostrogoths prior to 493 AD are covered by the "Germanic Horse Tribes 260-492 AD" list, which does include impact foot. I don't know of any evidence for such troops in the army of the Os...

Re: Army List Question - Antigonid

The Antigonid army list only goes to 301BC but the dynasty lasted for a while afterwards. Would you still use the Atigonid list for battles/campaigns of Demetrius and Gonatas that go in to the 300BC - 200BC era? Or is there another list that would suffice? thanks You should use the Macedonian lists...

Re: Cohesion States

Doing some research for an article on wargamer.com. Can someone define exactly how each Cohesion State impacts a unit? Loss of APs, etc? Off the top of my head: Disruption: Reduces combat power. Gives a -1 modifier on future cohesion tests. Fragmentation: Reduces combat power further. Gives -2 modi...

Re: Game speed - resolution of melee

All of the calculations are in fact instantaneous and in the melee phase they are (nearly) all done before any of them are shown. There is indeed therefore an inserted pause to allow the player to see what happened.

We can look into an option to skip such pauses, or possibly just shorten them.

Re: New TT Mod version 1.5.3 AVAILABLE HERE!

I took a final decision to reinstall the game. Now the TT Mod... Works!!! Ironically I'm playing with Ulysisgrunt... Anyway the previous accepted game doesn't work at all, the message now is a simple: "Cannot find a custom scenario....", in this case I think there's something connected with the pai...

Re: Tracks

Is ut possible to treat charge along the track as open, but orthogonal as not open? It could probably be done, at the cost of some processing overhead, because the only way it could be done is to look at all the surrounding squares to see if they are woods. However, we are currently not convinced t...

Re: Mirrored MP Games Issue

I don't see how he could get a script error from a Mod that isn't even on his computer. Scripts are not passed in the PBEM data.

However, it does raise the question of whether the Mirrored Challenge problem might be due to the server feeding back data for the wrong challenge.

Re: New TT Mod version 1.5.3 AVAILABLE HERE!

The second error suggests that you are trying to run the old version of TT Mod, which is not compatible with v1.5.3 of the game.

You need to update to v1.5.3 of TT Mod.

Existing games using the previous version won't work and will have to be abandoned.

If that is so, I´d prefer getting rid of the tracks altogether. Imagine Varus being quite safe in the German woods as long as all his men are staying on tracks…

Change it to

SetTeamMaxAP(1, 5, 6, 0);

The last parameter tells it to exclude light troops from the AP restriction if it is set.
Thank you, mysterious editor, it worked. No more suicidal Sciritae.

Is the defending unit any less alert for a pursing unit to run by rather than an attacking one?
In my view, yes. It is a sudden unexpected event, rather than one that is telegraphed well ahead like an enemy advance.

Hi, I'm playing my first game against the triple armed Romans - with half of this and half of that etc, how do they work - I read somewhere they can't shoot, is that correct? The 80% darts and 20% bow count together as an Impact phase POA (on top of the one for Light Spear) if the Romans are receiv...

Re: Pursuing through a primary ZOC.

Simple question: why is this allowed if the primary ZOC restricts other types of movement? :( Because ZOCs are primarily psychological rather than physical, and pursuing units are too focused on pursuing the routers to take much notice of other threats. Likewise the pursuit goes past too fast for t...
