Re: Question on units inside cities

If a unit is in the city and doing nothing, then it defends the city, the animation will show the unit fighting if the city is attacked and I believe the cities defence rating adds bonuses to the defender. If the unit is training then it doesn't defend the city and the animation is merely the city b...

Re: Question on units inside cities

A reasonable compromise might be to allow armies being trained to defend the city, but not to allow them to complete any training if they are attacked or if there is an enemy adjacent to the city. I can't see any training happening if the city has an army camped outside or if one is storming the wal...

Re: Question on units inside cities

My understanding is that if they are being trained in a city then they contribute nothing, which seems a little extreme to me, as the men are there with their equipment and I'm sure they wouldn't site in their barracks or sit in the training arena doing nothing as the walls are being stormed. If a ...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)

I have noticed with the TT mod in the Biblical section a few of the hoplite armies have got a crazy amount of LF javelinmen. Most of the armies have got 1+ 0/6 or 0/5 javelinmen but three of the lists (Aetolian, Akarnanian and Phokian) have 7+ 0/47. This must be a typo surely. No, it is based on th...

Re: What am I Missing?

Thanks. I think I see what I was doing that kept things from getting better - I should not have raised the population support slider to 3/4. Still wonder how the AI is able to build so many warriors so quickly without food shortages. There may be something else I'm still missing. I'll try them agai...

Re: What am I Missing?

Yes, I think it is important to protect all the initial units, especially as they have special powers, that make them cheap to support and don't need supply. Having an ally attack is really unfortunate. I tended to build my initial fields around Seuthopolis, so not too close to any border. I did eve...

Re: Provisional outline for the Themed Event in Season 5

It would be interesting to see an event based around Ancient Britain. There are a lot of army types in that area not so often used and it would provide some interesting challenges, especially if an invading Roman army was thrown into the mix! :)

Re: What am I Missing?

I managed to avoid food riots by using Tithe, so am now beginning my expansion. I have most of the original Macedonian land now and have made peace with Athens and Sparta is struggling with Ptolemy's armies. I have just accepted Ardiaie (sp?) to the Federation, so I now have control of small cities ...

Re: What am I Missing?

I've just started a game with Odryssian Kingdom on medium difficulty with all the standard settings and am now 239 BCE. The big problem that needs solving is food supply and about the 3rd year Seuthopolis took damage because of lack of food. I spent all my efforts establishing trade with Epirus (for...
