I'm not saying this shouldn't be looked at, but I'd caution making the game too historical (in all aspects), otherwise the playability will suffer. If you please let us know the name of multiplayer game, we can have a look to diagnose the issue. It's called Open MP game (see forum for password). I'm playing Arverni and the problem region is my old capital... it has about 15 slaves. Population is set to automatically focus on food in the Gallia...

It is in the file AEP_TERRAINS_v2e.xls in the column "Flank". You find this file in the zip Empires_DB.zip, under rootgame/Data/Database I appreciate that it is available in the depths of the software files, but this needs to be easily visible via the UI. hopefully this can come in a future release.

I can confirm the radio buttons were off and are still off. I've never used them (until this morning when I turned them on and then off again) and never missed a turn. I'll leave it to the devs to comment on your questions regarding the potential bug. However, I think that in the assault of a town the units inside the city should always be the defender irrespective of the size of the units. Obviously, if it is a sortie from the city by the defenders against an arm...

It is annoying to pick up units from the back edge of the map to put closer to the front. Indeed. To overcome this somewhat I use auto deploy and then rearange the troops. I'm not sure I understand the issue your descibing as the 2 screenshots are identical, I think you meant to post a Picenum screenshot as the second one.

Having said that, I suspect there is something off with the food calculations. I'm seeing some odd situations in my games.
