Difficulty level and AI performance

Hi, In Das24680's Let's Play videos he increased the difficulty level from normal to hard and in his sixth video he says a couple times that he believes that the AI more competently manages its forces. He's speculating and hoping that is true and from watching the videos it seems to me that the AI d...

Re: Sovereignty Beta patch v1.2 is now available

Good to know the bug reports are helping the developers improve on a very promising game. I especially like that they fixed the AI so that Heroes use their powers in battle. This "Fixed crashes when AI tries to request dead realms join it's wars" I assume refers to realms that have been eliminated a...

Re: Bugs/Flaws/etc

Terje439, are you amenable to others posting bugs here?

If so I'm experiencing regular game freezes when two factions engage in a battle and I'm watching the battle results screen. Since I updated to the Beta 1.1 this has gotten worse.

Re: A suggestions thread

As the attacker I have won several battles against a superior force both in terms of numbers and troop quality simply by capturing the victory locations. The AI will defend a victory location closest to the start line of where my troops set up. However they never defend the locations far away...May...

Market and supply and demand

Having the distance of a province from the capital play a role in how much value is derived from the province is a good idea. The farther the goods have to travel the more will be siphoned off by theft, corruption, etc. The market though does not seem to react to similar thinking about impact of the...

Re: My Thoughts/Questions Diplomacy

One thing I discovered and like is that there are innovative ways to get another faction to have a more favorable opinion towards your faction. While playing as Dragonhold, I want to keep Dunmar happy while I stick it to the orcs. So I send an agent to Dunmar to sing our praises, which is a slow pro...

Re: Diplomacy and Economy

Both diplomacy and economy are in our list of things to target for improvement - can't say at this stage exactly what form those improvements will take though. I like that upgrading provinces is simple. Some complain that this mechanic is overly simplistic. With potentially hundreds of provinces to...

Re: what a beautiful graphic !

Careful there, Morris. I assume you were joking, but there may be some women playing CEaW and reading these forums, and we welcome our brothers and sisters alike. For companies like Slitherine to thrive they need all the players they can get :D Here is some information on women that served in the US...

I have to say I find the graphic...strange.

Re: "undo" button

After thinking on pk867's post I don't think an undo button is what is needed. Rather, a way to make ZOC a bit more transparent would be preferred. Either of the following would help. Allowing the player to reselect a unit. Say my inf corps destroys a unit and can enter the vacant hex but I'd rather...

Re: "undo" button

How do you determine how many undo's does a player get. Then you also have the game reloading ( replaying) issue coupled with an 'undo' option how can you control the possibility of cheating? Also whether the game engine could handle it. Then it would have to be playtested to see how it affects bal...

"undo" button

According to the Wargamer review of Commander the Great War http://www.wargamer.com/article/3278/pc-game-review-commander-the-great-war , the Lordz Studio is releasing an "undo" button for the game in an upcoming patch. Will such a button also be availalbe for CEaW at some point? I think this would ...

Re: A couple of questions

I recommend you buy it, especially if you also use the Grand Strategy mod which is free. The mod is really well supported by the volunteer developers and the forum is a great place to learn and have your questions answered. Playing the Axis in PBEM is very challenging, so be prepared to get schooled...

Perhaps the plotters succeeded in offing Hitler and sued for peace? But for a table leg it could have happened.

I mean that on first attempt to install the mod was installed to the wrong location. I had to change the location the mod was installing to to make it work. Not a big deal but some users may not know how.

Re: GS v2.10 Installer -- Need Help Checking Out

I have just upgraded to 2.10 without any difficulties. For those of you who are trying out the new installer: (1) Are you able to load and play games started under the GSv2.10 beta? (2) Confirm the changes documented in the GSv2.10 manual? (3) Do you feel based on your testing that the installer is...

Seeking opponent 2.10

Just loaded 2.1 and ready to play. I consider myself an experience player, far from elite. Looking for same. Can do one turn per day, more or less.

Willing to play either side or a mirror game. Prefer default settings.

PM me.
