Re: GS v2.10 Installer Ready for Checkout

I did a fresh install of MH CEaW 1.12 GOLD to C:\Slitherine instead of C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine and then installed the mod and the game launched.

Re: GS v2.10 Installer Ready for Checkout

That is my understanding. I'm going to try installing 1.12 GOLD to C:\Slitherine folder then install the mod and see if that works.

Re: GS v2.10 Installer Ready for Checkout

The game is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Military History Commander - Europe at War GOLD and the mod installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Military History Commander - Europe at War GOLD. When I clicked ok the box popped up saying: "The following settings will be used: Insta...

I fail to see how this is a good trade off for Morris, given the benefits to the Axis production and the hurt put on the US economy. But he is pretty foxy.

Re: Big thanks for these recent AARs

Do you need special software for that? Probably. My skills are nearly rudimentary and I get by using Microsoft Paint, but there are other freebie products that allow you to do pretty sophisticated presentations for your AAR. Perhaps someone can chime in with some ideas on free or inexpensive softwa...

Big thanks for these recent AARs

Thanks to Morris, Max and Diplomaticus for all your efforts to write such excellent AARs. :D Having dabbled with an AAR in a different forum http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?24364-A-foreign-intervention-AAR-no-Leibstandarte-please I know how much work these can be. While I've waited until t...

Re: Should Canada be invaded after capturing England?

According to the manual, "Dec 19, 1941 Expected USA Entry." It's hardwired, unless you invade North America prior to then in which case USA will activate earlier. If you start a game as Allies you will see what the USA has on the board, which is what they bring to the fight at a minimum. USA can pur...

Re: Should Canada be invaded after capturing England?

Agree that Russia is your most dangerous foe and your focus should be on them, but in the "hands" of the AI you won't have much to fear from the Soviets. The Brits are crippled once they lose the British Isles (at least against the AI) and the AI won't be able to develop a coordinated, powerful camp...

Re: Barbarossa / Max-moriss

7 ARM is a lot of Russian armour! great job by Max, but I suggest it wouldn't work so well a second time Especially against a different player The interesting thing about a Max/Morris matchup: Max rarely appears to do anything the same way twice, and Morris seems to pick a strategy and sticks with ...

Re: Modding oil use

Note that changing either or both of these files will result in a checksum message when playing someone who hasn't modified these files. As per standard advice always backup your original files before changing them. I was thinking along the same lines, making minor adjustments only for some of the ...

Re: Modding oil use

Thank you. I see this is fairly involved but nowhere near as complicated as I thought.

I will play around with these and test them in hotseat to see if this is something of interest to PBEMers out there who are facing the same challenges with oil as I do.

This is about the best forum in terms of the way the users act towards one another that I've ever been on, which says very little but still if there were such a thing as a perfect forum it would be this one. The AGEOD forum for their Amercan Civil War game is equally good, and it is here and there ...

Modding oil use

Hello, my name is George, and I have a problem: I'm one of those players that really struggles with oil usage when playing as Axis in PBEM games. Yep, I've read the posts, studied the AARs of elite players, rail oil consuming units, avoid moving/flying in mud zones, etc. but mastering this part of t...

Thanks for the suggestions. I did some quick browsing and also found these and wondered if anyone could recommend any of them? Now I'll need to come up with a clever nickname, like "George."
