Armor corps is a para unit?

Playing a test game of GS 2.0 as Axis against the AI, and when it was time for me to create SS units I selected my best armor corps and noticed it had two similar but unfamiliar icons next to the picture of the unit. When I tried to upgrade it to SS status a pop up box said that it is already a para...

Re: Blitz

Curious as to why you did not elect to strategically bomb London after fall of France. Is the oil expenditure not worth the reduction in British PPs? Actually bomber with 0 strategic operation tech is not the best thing to bomb capital, if you get unlucky you can lose more then gain. Yes, which is ...

Thanks for doing this, Morris.

I would find it difficult to write an AAR in my native language; can't imagine translating it to another.

Will watch this with interest.

Regards.

Too bad this, too bad that.

Guys, he's kicking Morris' butt.

Show a little good cheer for our champion, The Road Warrior, eh?

My two cents:

1. Move 2.1 "out the door as planned."

2. Ignore Morris. If people want to play him, fine and good luck. The rest of us can find opponents that enjoy the spirit of the game and play it for fun the way it is intended.

I can only speak from my limited experience, but with the changes in 2.0 I'm able to last much longer playing as Axis. I'm in a PBEM game where I might, knock on wood, make it to May 1945... So I am finding it much more enjoyable playing as Axis which I agree is the more challenging game, though Jim...

PK867 did a post on this before GS 2.0 comparing the various advantage levels for the Axis player. Don't know if these numbers are current or not but I found this helpful.

Man, I must be getting old, but I don't see how to cast a vote.

So I vote here. Yes, I'd like to see a tournament and I would participate in one and I don't care who I play because if I'm fortunate to advance I'm going to have to play one of you "elite" guys evenutally and I say BRING IT ON!

The reasons that I'm not always able to attack these fighters is that a) my units are being used to hold back his ground forces or are protecting valuable cities from pesky partisans and paradrops, and b) not all of the hexes he lands in are areas that I can rail next to, so by the time my ground fo...

Wondering if others have seen this in their PBEM games and think a change in game mechanics should be made to prevent this.

fighters not out of supply

In a current PBEM my opponent is able to land and operate fighters behind enemy lines in non-city/fortress/other supply source hexes that had been claimed by partisans. The fighters can't trace a supply source but remain in full supply turn after turn. He can rebase his fighters deep in my territory...

This raises interesting questions. But for General Dietrich von Choltitz, Hitler would have destroyed as much of Paris as possible before the allies entered the city. Does the fact that Hitler's plans to use scorched earth more extensively were undermined by some of those instructed to do so rule ou...

Having never won as axis by email in previous versions of GS, one might expect me to say "no." But I did have one game where my opponent claimed that the allies could not lose and after I captured the UK, destroyed the British air and naval forces and launched a strong Barbarossa, he resigned. As Ma...

When rejecting the French Armistice, does one have to capture all of the key cities in NA before capturing Paris to trigger Spain joining the Axis, or can one reject the armistice, capture Paris (assuming this all happens after the second June 1940 date) then finish capturing the key NA cities and s...

Experienced Axis player for GS 2.0

Looking for someone with a few Axis wins under their belt to play so that they can show me how it is done. I've played several Allied games and not lost yet though a couple probably would have been very close had they finished. PM me and I can do at least one turn per day. Prefer the default setting...
