Re: Pot Luck Terrain

Personally, I'd like if there was a bit more of a chance for Steppe or Desert maps; it would give cavalry armies a better chance.

Re: [custom scenario] Rise of the Elephant Kings

Interesting. Though, if there are no firearm troops involved, why not just load up some Indian armies in FoGII?

Re: Warriors/Medium Foot

Hmm, not really. It's mentioned in two spots in the Sengoku Jidai manual, but not at all in the Pike and Shot manual. I do believe it is the same in both games, but I suppose I can't be 100% sure. Honestly these troops rarely appear, so it's not much of a factor. Are there any warrior types in the b...

Re: Warriors/Medium Foot

Warriors get more movement, but are also more likely to uncontrollably pursue defeated foes.

But also very cheap. They're useful harassment troops, though they can't fight an enemy cavalry wing unsupported.

Re: Cavalry breaking off . . .

Can't you just have infantry have their AP reduced by 4 the turn after they've been charged by nonlight cavalry? That would give the cav space, at least against one infantry unit, without giving them 75% backward movement. Of course, they'd have to charge to get the breathing space, so it would be h...

Re: Battle of Wimpfen, 1622

It's enough to cause some disruptions. If you can subsequently break one with your reinforcements you can cause a chain reaction. In addition, the enemy Kurassiers are really quite useless against Steady infantry, so they're just fluff if you can keep them off your own cavalry or disrupted units.

Re: Battle of Wimpfen, 1622

In another thread I posted: Your Detached Musketeers are the key to the battle. Note that if you move them off the fortifications, they lose the Light Gun attribute, which greatly boosts their firepower. Purchasing the extra artillery is also useful. Keep in mind that artillery lowers the cohesion r...
