Re: Tracer Mod

The intensity of the effect is governed by that Alpha layer I was talking about. Basically, making the alpha layer brighter makes the effect brighter. If you want that effect, I can add the brighter tracers download to the post above. Thanks yes, if you can add brighter versions it'd put a smile on...

Re: Tracer Mod

Okay thanks I've muddled through and the tracers work fine in BA2, I'll swap them around for different scenarios to suit the lighting conditions and summer/winter etc, and shall also have a try at modifying them further myself to try to get insanely bright and thicker firework displays..:) The inte...

Re: Tracer Mod

Thanks but can you tell me how to open it? I downloaded it from Mediafire onto my Desktop and it calls itself an 'Adobe Acrobat Document (.rar)', and when I click on it I get a 'Cannot open' message and some mumbo-jumbo about 'unsupported file'. The file is compressed, that is quite normal procedur...

Re: Scouting anomaly?

I'm not sure the undo function needs to be altered. The way I see it, if you had a unit of 120 light horse scouts and wanted to recce a wooded area, they could split up into smaller groups and not all have to stick together in one mass anyway. This is quite well simulated by using the undo feature ...

Re: Tracer Mod

I have updated the original post after I discovered this: "One slight complication is that some Campaigns ie; The Desert, The Bulge and some user created scenarios, have their own tracer.tga in their file structure. So to use these new tracer effects with those campaigns you would have to copy and p...

Re: Scouting anomaly?

Almost every move will reveal some tile somewhere Maybe, but it might be possible to script a range limitation, so that only revealed tiles within a certain distance cancel the Undo. That could limit the damage to the Undo function. It would certainly need testing in a beta to check for issues. Two...

Tracer Mod

I have released a small coloured Tracer mod over on the BA2 forum:

viewtopic.php?f=312&t=94739

It can also be used for the original Battle Academy.

cheers

Tracer Mod

Here is a simple mod to replace the original tracer graphic with something a bit more colourful. http://www.mediafire.com/file/148km7ijvbp1etu/Tracer.rar/file When downloaded and extracted the file contains 4 folders: Tracer Green : This gives green tracer fire as normally used by the Soviets. Ideal...

Re: Scouting anomaly?

Maybe Undos should be disallowed if the move reveals any previously hidden tile, whether it contains an enemy unit or not? It would disallow a lot of Undos in the early part of a battle, when the armies are advancing into contact in broken terrain, but it would also stop this sort of dodgy tactic.

Re: Scouting anomaly?

I thought Undo becomes impossible if a previously unseen enemy becomes visible? I get that a lot when moving LC forward and revealing enemy that was previously concealed behind hills. Yeah but if you don't spot an enemy you can undo and repeat until you spot an enemy. Knowing that a forest has no e...

Re: "Has MG" in Squads.Csv

I changed 'has MG' = 1 to the Panhard 178 but it didn't seem to work, even at point blank range (this was to try and nerf the P178 to have no HE shot, like IRL but no success with any SQUADS.csv changes :/ By changing "Has MG" to 1, you are actually giving an mg to the Panhard. To delete any HE cap...

Re: Brighter tracers?

I was intrigued by your query, and have looked a little deeper into the Tracer graphic. The file you need is Tracer.tga, which is in the Battle Academy 2/Data/UI/Textures/Battle folder. The original Battle Academy has the same file location for the Tracer.tga, except that the Bulge and Desert campai...

Re: Brighter tracers?

Hi guys, is there a mod or script or magic wand to make tracer fire more dramatic, such as bright red, green or orange? If not, can you tell me where exactly is the default tracer graphic in the BA files as I'd like to have a crack at it myself by jazzing up the colours with Paint or Photoshop. Ope...

Re: Please don't make me come and get you.

Such an approach would hugely disadvantage any armies that rely on mobility making them pointless. They would also give huge advantages to heavy infantry armies in most cases and eliminate any finesse in manouvre. I absolutely agree, and I have no problem with the current rules. However there seem ...

Re: Please don't make me come and get you.

NO, there is no real life example in a field battle where an army decides last minute to run at a right angle of their original battle line and hide in the woods. Such action have one sole purpose by the player, to NOT LOSE the battle, which is very different than making the best of a situation and...

Re: Moving through a ZOC

Uhh... this sort of thing did happen from day one, it's just always been rare. There hasn't been a rule change. I would think that just making sure that a unit can never simply ignore secondary ZoC would take care of this issue? At that point, the archers in the screenshot could either turn around ...

Re: Where is my scenario and how can i play it?

Select "Epic Battles" from the "Battles" menu. You will then see a list of modules, one of which should be the name of the Campaign folder that you created, select that and you will then get a list of the scenarios that you have created within that particular folder. Select the scenario and press "A...
