Re: Query on War of the Spanish Succession

Thanks Richard, that seems like sensible advice. It was mainly the British and Dutch that used 3 rank formations (and the Platoon Firing System) during the WSS, the French and Imperials still used 4 or 5 ranks and outdated firing systems. The British and Dutch infantry therefore had a big advantage ...

Re: Query on War of the Spanish Succession

I've actually been thinking about this, with a view to covering the Great Northern War and possibly the WSS. The main issue seems to be representing a battalion in 3 rank formation using platoon firing, and the increased fire effect that it should have. I have three possible ways of doing this; a) G...

Re: Necessary files for War of the Roses?

Is Pike and Shot Campaigns on the good computer upgraded to the latest patch (1.1.2)? That is the only thing that I can think of that maybe the answer. I assume you copied the 14RosesCampaign folder from My Documents/My Games/PSCAMP/CAMPAIGNS on your old computer, to the same location on the good co...

Re: Extra Nations Campaign Mod Version 2

Paul, I just wanted to express a tardy though heartfelt admiration for this mod...and the Scottish stuff is greatly appreciated. I have had an absolute blast with the Scottish and English Reivers. Who needs armies when you have armed cattle thieves. I have wanted to ask you about some of the flags ...

You might have accepted to increase by accident.

Richard may have some idea on this.
I don't remember anything like that, but I will keep a close eye on it in future.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Great game!

[quote="Jagger2002 There is some medieval. I noticed the early HRE and Venetians in the extra nations Mod- which IIRC, were antagonists as part of the early Italian Wars. Although I don't think they actually fought a battle. Well spotted! I missed them out of the Historical Opponents document, but t...

Captain-General Difficulty?

Does the game change the difficulty setting by itself? I have been playing on Lieutenant-General for some time, when I noticed that I was on Captain-General, although I was sure that I had never changed it myself. Since then I have often reset the game back to Lieutenant-General, but after a few gam...

Re: Extra Nations Campaign Mod Version 2

If you want to create a scenario from the Extra Nations campaign Mod using the editor, all you have to do is this; 1) Open the editor and open the 13ExtraNationsCampaign. 2) Create a new scenario folder, you don't need to design the map, add units or do anything else at this stage, just open a new s...

Re: Extra Nations Campaign Mod Version 2

Well I did say going into the Editor would be fun or frustration ! Having read through the posts, I think it maybe a "little over my head". Which is a great shame, still I can play the mod on Skirmish or in a Campaign. So I will leave it at that. Thank's to Richard and Paul but like I say "way to m...

Re: Extra Nations Campaign Mod Version 2

Hi Richard, Yes the cloned unit textures will work ok, including the Archer based ones, because I managed to fix that. I was referring to all the standard named unit textures. I have 49 different texture folders in the mod, and for campaigns and skirmish games that is no problem. But the editor can ...

Re: Extra Nations Campaign Mod Version 2

Just thought I would ask, is it possible to use this mod in the editor ? Thinking of making up my own battle.....The Editor is a place I seldom visit, so should be fun or frustration. Thanks in advance for any advice. The only problem is that many of the new Unit textures that I included in the mod...

Re: Extra Nations Campaign Mod Version 2

My main aim now is to do more Nine Years War scenarios. I am currently working on doing the Battle of Neerwinden (1693). It is a very large battle so I have had to split it into 3 separate scenarios, two are already finished, the third will take another week or so. I would like to do all the other m...

Re: Extra Nations Campaign Mod Version 2

Creating scenarios for the Nine Years War is quite challenging, but that is one of the things that makes it so interesting. The information is available, but it takes a bit of finding. The maps I usually get from internet searches, although the Marburg Digital Archive has a lot of good maps; http://...

Extra Nations Campaign Mod Version 2

Version 2 of my Extra Nations Campaign Mod is now available for download in game. I have been working on this ever since I released version 1 in November last year. Several new armies have been added. There have been some requests for the Venetian and Savoyard armies, so I have created these, and th...

Re: Lime Green Blobs

Yes,I think the crucial thing is that the iPad may not be able to read my latest graphics images. I will re-release these scenarios with the graphics saved in the normal way, it will take me a few days, then you should be okay.

Re: Modding army lists

I am working on version 2 of my Extra Nations Mod, in between my new scenarios. It contains several Savoyard army lists from the League of Augsburg era and all of their historical opponents; ie; the French and Spanish. It also includes all of the Venetian army lists. All armies have new graphics and...

Re: Lime Green Blobs

Thanks Pip,

I will have a think about what to do with this issue. I will probably go back to saving as DXT3. I have two massive scenarios just finished, but I will now have to resave all of the graphics as DXT3!

Sorry to any ipad users who have had problems with these graphics.

Regards

Paul

Re: Lime Green Blobs

Those are my scenarios, and nearly all the units have new graphics done by myself. Recently, I had noticed that when saving the graphics files in the usual way (in DXT3 format) the image was getting slightly fuzzed. To get around that, I have started to save the files as a 32bit ARGB. Now these file...
