Re: Looking for MP game

As an example I once played a eu3 no game that saw a three way balance of power treaty where the winner took some territory in Europe the loser was sold colonies in India by a third party and the third party secured agreements from both players to stop colonisation in South America. Negotiating that...

Re: Looking for MP game

Only at the end of your turn there is the ability to put together a public comment on the message board for all players. No "private" chats between players. That's one aspect of the game that feels really limiting. I think these games work best with complex negotiations and shifting geopolitics. Li...

Re: Is there any way to give or return territory to allies?

Sometimes I feel that I want to weaken an strong neighbour nation crushing one of its armies or attacking the capital, but, in order to do this, I must conquer some regions and suffer the cdr penalty. - It would be great to make punishment campaigns, where you enter in enemy lands, and have the pos...

Re: Leaders

I think repeatedly it has been proven that education can actually kill creativity, with the most common example of a general performing poorly being one that lacks adaptability despite significant education and even experience (many games have an old guard negative modifier). Creativity and being ab...

Re: Sieges

With a non Roman faction- I'm playing Carthage- it's super hard to take big cities like Syracuse...or Numidian capitol Certa! Sieges can take forever it seems...is there any way to speed that, for example building siege engines but I didn't see any mention of them... Syracuse is about the toughest ...

Re: Is there any way to give or return territory to allies?

Maybe having the AI undertake war differently to players would be interesting. With the AI calling it a limited war or war of opportunity if they declared war just because see that you're down (or any other reason other than actual superiority and an objective target), this would make it easier to p...

Re: Is there any way to give or return territory to allies?

Basically if you need to get rid of them so you can redirect your forces elsewhere then you're going to have to eat the territory. But if you have the luxury of time try to rebuild that failed state as an ally.

Re: Is there any way to give or return territory to allies?

Yeah I'd like to see something in that vein but again I think it has to be very carefully implemented because otherwise it'll tilt back the other way where you start blobbing through client states. To maintain the growth and decline cycle of this game you need to be forced to become bloated and some...

Re: Sieges

As far as I understand the manual the more units with the besieger trait (usually regular infantry), plus a good leader (or at least any leader) and a blockaded port all help. There is a chance element as well though (with a d10 being rolled and modifiers added/subtracted) so you could get unlucky.

Re: Is there any way to give or return territory to allies?

I think a balance needs to be struck, like a hit to your loyalty or legacy or something every time you give up a region. I really like the difficulty in maintaining an empire in this game, and one of the best parts is getting stuck in a war with someone you can defeat and then being straddled with t...

Re: Blockaded regions can't build ships?

If you're caught so offguard, or your nation starts out as completely devoid of naval forces, that an enemy that has a significant enough fleet that it can maintain a blockade of all your ports while rotating in and out its fleets to avoid losing ships to supply losses, then yeah you have no chance ...
