Re: 18th Century mod right here Frederick the Great Age of R

I should also say to other modders out there. Feel free to take anything I added, and run with it if you can use it, or think you can improve it. I'd love it if someone else created a bunch of scenarios.

Re: 18th Century mod right here Frederick the Great Age of R

James, CONGRATULATIONS on the Prussian/Austrian mods. Very impressive! It so happens that I sometime ago I designed a P&S Chotusitz scenario, using Odenathus' mods and based on the all the info from the "Obscure Battles" site. I modified your scenario accordingly with a more detailed map and additi...

18th Century mod right here Frederick the Great Age of Reaso

I am working on an 18th Century mod. I love the Age of Reason, Frederick the Great, Seven Years War, etc. I got pretty far, until I realized the plugin I have for animating the 3D models is outdated. This mod has a lot of the 18th century soldier models, but their skin is rigid, so their animations ...

Is there a new S3F export tool for 3dsMax

Hi I did some 3D model modding for Battle Academy and Pike & Shot. I am noticing that models built using an old S3F plugin for 3dsMax aren't animating properly like they do for those prior Battle Academy engine games. It's as if the program doesn't recognize the "Mesh" as bendable, they stick as rig...

Revolutionary War Mod

Since it's almost the 4th of July. I made a 1776 Revolutionary War mod. Here is the first battle, "Battle of Bunker Hill". I will add more battles soon to this same file and update. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rhlkisgzq1ax3oi/AMERICANREVOLUTIONARYWAR.zip?dl=1 --posted 7/1/17 (1 battle) Unzip the file ...

Simple improved unit graphics mod tutorial

Here's a simple tutorial on how someone could improve the unit graphics from the blurry blocky figures. Here's an example screenshot of what I am trying to accomplish (halfway through completion, see the nice looking soldier). (Note: I am using a ZOOMINLIMIT of 50 by editing my MAPVIEW config file l...

Re: Position of troops within a tile

Yes, it would be very nice to be able to control the cross formation, and maybe make it something else. Is there any way we can change this? Is this stored in a .DAT file or some other hidden script somewhere? I am trying to make some changes to Pike & Shot or Hell, and want a single line of gun arm...

Re: Welcome to the Hell Editor

Oh and another thing to add that I couldn't find anywhere. To Raise the height of a part of the map in the editor, such as if you wanted to create a hill. Hold CTRL and right click.
Hold CTRL and left click to lower a section.

Re: Welcome to the Hell Editor

I want to also add that it is possible to add your own custom units into a mod. First copy the squads.csv from C:\Slitherine\Hell\Data\squads.csv into your custom campaign folder (Mine was named TESTCUSTOM) such as C:\Users\MyName\Documents\My Games\HELL\CAMPAIGNS\TESTCUSTOM Add your units to the bo...

Re: 3D Modeling Tutorials for Pike & Shot and Battle Academy

Sorry about that. I am learning youtube as well. They got uploaded as "Private" and I changed them to Public now. That's why I could see them but no one else can.

I also added a 4th video, but my son demanded my attention towards the end, so I will continue later.

Re: 3D Modeling Tutorials for Pike & Shot and Battle Academy

The 2nd and 3rd videos are not available. I saw this post at work, and looked and it seems the 2nd and 3rd were blocked, but when I got home, it seems all the videos are working. I wonder if it's caused by some way I linked the videos? Here's the three videos as plain links https://youtu.be/I116QEI...

That is a really nice article, the pictures of axes shows what the fighters were wielding, and Knockdoe is from the irish “cnoc tuagh”, literally “the hill of axes”.

3D Modeling Tutorials for Pike & Shot and Battle Academy

I made some tutorial videos about 3D modeling for the Battle Academy engine. I will post them here, they should be valid for Battle Academy, Pike & Shot, and Hell, and hopefully Sanctus Reach; as they all use the same engine. I had a heck of a time figuring some of this out, I am starting as a novic...

Re: Battles of Alexander the Great

There's another post that says how you can easily mass convert old scenarios. http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=72881 So you could download them yourself. Create a folder called _Convert in your .../FoG_Unity_Data folder. Press tilde to bring up the console in the game, press Righ...
