Re: The new scoring system...

I suspect what Dave is getting at is that there aren't that many MeG players who jumped directly from FoG:AM to MeG, but there are quite a few who did play FoG:AM after moving from DBM but then moved onto FoW or something else and have now moved to MeG.

Re: The new scoring system...

Well to comment on Chris' question about people promoting v3 I'd have to say that Dave's posts are generally nice and positive about the game and are likely to encourage IMO. A bit different from Chris who always seems to be moaning about something to me - I'm sure he is trying to help but the wordi...

Safest is to leave a gap the same width as the evading unit :D

What is the minimum to be viable at Britcon Tim?

And out of interest who are the new ones?

Re: Britcon 2018

With a dozen (and still growing) signed up for Devizes as well, I suspect rumours of FoGR's demise are somewhat overstated! Also Attack have provided extra spaces for FoG:R due to demand. Britcon's lack of entries seems to be rather the exception than the rule at present. Not sure what the cause is.

Re: Britcon 2018

I may struggle making this after all - just realised it starts the Friday after I will have just come back from a 10 day living history event in Denmark with the Company of St George. May just not work :(

Re: Britcon 2018

Despite my dislike of open comps I am thinking about the possibility of Britcon this year for the first time since I was part of the org team

Just wondering who else is going for FoG:R?

Re: Oxford events for 2018

The following have not sent in an army list David Rowland Dave Hutchby Nik Gaukroger So they will lose the 2 initiative rolls for their first game. To avoid losing it for the second game as well the list needs to be with Tom by Wednesday. (t.elsworth@btopenworld.com). If anyone knows or sees these ...

ECW figs for sale (unpainted)

I've been loking at the Blue Moon ECW range and it has got me thinking I may just prefer them to the unpainted Peter Pig ECW + others I have in the lead mountain. So, I am wondering about flogging off the figs I have to fund ones I'd prefer. I should say that the Peter Pig figures are perfectly good...

Re: Late Roman - Kinda bad?

Yup, I've played a couple against Bosporans and there have only been a couple of mounted charges against the infantry - however, the Bosporans had a good chunk of infantry themselves which provided a nice target and got me a good way towards the necessary break %age :-) Games panned out well overall...

Re: Late Roman - Kinda bad?

The late Roman heavy infantry is pretty underwhelming even though the lists have some other nice units. The Legions are great at defense but the AI never charges them, running out the clock instead. Obviously don't know what armies you've been playing but I've found the AI is pretty willing to char...

Re: Veteran Legionnaires texture

historically, Lorica Hamata was used thorought entire Roman time period, while Segmentata was quite limited to just 50 years.. Longer than 50 years, probably about 3 centuries from the late C1stBC to late C3rdAD. besides, Hamata was considered better armor than segmented armor, which was considered...
