Re: 15mm Huaxtecs (again)

Plenty of concept pictures to wet your appetite here: http://wargamesfactory.lefora.com/2009/02/11/15mm-huaxtecs-an-aztec-enemy-state/page1/ Proportions and anatomy in those concepts seems completely off. Either that or those are child warriors. Otherwise their heads are massive compared to their b...

Yes, they didn't have to charge the elephants as in they didn't have to pass a CMT or anything. It was just that they were going to be charged anyway and there was a unit of Cav getting to their flank.

Carlos have you thought about using elephants in your Timurids to break knights? Keith Yes, I forgot to mention I always use the elephants - they are good for a laugh. So far I've had 3 games w/ the Timurids. In one the elephants pinned a group of Hungarian Knights forcing them to charge them and d...

I play Timurids and I start the army comp w/ 7*4 BGs of fully-kitted sup cavalry. Then I add other bits and pieces but basically the really good cavalry can perform all roles on the battlefield, whether shooting, charging against weaklings or maneuvering quickly to other points in the battlefield. O...

Play better. Don't give up easily on an army. The Teutonics might not be Tier 1 but they certainly should be good enough to win games even against Tier 1 armies. FWIW LRR and Catalans are as good or as bad as the Teutonics.

Yea that is why whenever modern "trained" police forces show up with wild angry dogs, the police have multiple bullet wounds and the dog gets a bath and treats after the cannie control people show up. That said, Dogs are too valuable for battle. That is what nobles are for expend them first. So are...

But since you have to pay for various levels of commander, from inspired down to field, why not pay for BG commander too? 5 pts per BG? granted thats not in the original spirit of this thread, which searches for non-rules inspired ways to defeat large BG armies. Problem is that makes any cheap and ...

Dogs are probably useful for an army before and after a battle, where they can help to guard camps, track enemy scouts, and help hunt for food. In a battlefield a grown man w/ a shield and a pointy stick laughs at them.

It's not bad in period although that's a lot of points on generals as mentioned. Outside period, you have far too many chariots (and I don't know if you have other options). The problem w/ 20 LCh is that they fight in 1 rank and 20 of them is 80cms of frontage which is quite a lot. If you try deploy...

That rule adds even more slippery slope to the game, ie those who are losing will tend to find it harder to recover. Therefore it's a bad rule in terms of game enjoyment. I do agree however w/ some of the changes mentioned before like AP for CiC or all generals (2 for CiC and 1 for others maybe) and...

Aren't you a better rules writer than the authors w/ your clearer text! In fact you're wrong as mounted in the open get a + against mf and lf. So mounted in the open w/ light spear will get a + against MF and LF who might have an impact PoA like light spear for example.

Their versatility and small size plus the interpenetration might make them too good at catching BGs in the flank, so probably the auto cohesion drop for being charged in the flank should be waived if it's a hero. Otherwise cool.

ALL skirmish/shooters means you can muck about to your hearts content on the get-it-nearly-every-time default billiard table that is Steppe terrain, driving your opponents to despair at the tedium of trying to nail jelly to a wall in the knowledge that your army is impossible for them to beat whils...
