The Museum ones are by far the nicest I have seen. They are huge, but no reason why you couldnt base them on 40x40 if you wanted, although mine fit on 40x30 ok. There are 3 poses, but modification is possible to get more poses. The ones galloping fit on a 40x30 base w/ their hind legs sticking out ...

"Dr Who" - a BG that charges two feet across the table by converting its impact down a flank through six enemy BGs in one impact phase. A wonder to behold and a personal achievement. I thought these were great but the one I'm quoting is not possible. You only fight once in the impact phase. It IS p...

I played against a Christian Nubian that had 6 x 8BGs of MF Sup Bow - and it hurt - that's why I tipped the Godendag entry for great things! With rear support and a general these guys are prety resilient. Combine it with a Mamluk ally and I think it could be a real handful for many armies. Pete And...

I do use 2 x 8 MF sup in my Nubians to be honest. I find them useful as bait since they get the opponent salivating about the archetypal glorious charge. They can, as mentioned, hold up some types of mounted for a bit while better troops go for flanks. Also, they can shoot LF off the table and clear...

I am just quite glad our Byzantines didn't have to play the massed superior bow of the Christian Nubians. I'm keen to know why the Byzantines armoured cavalry would fear troops that shoot at them on 4+ and that they are 2 PoAs up in both impact and melee. Massed or not, unprotected archers are cann...

Thanks for the report. I love that wicker man by the way (that's what it looks like at least). Why didn't any of the games finish? Did it have something to do w/ the larger size of the tables?

Roman swarm seems to do fine w/out any knights and probably would be worse off if they had them in the list. Same goes for a lot of armies I think. In a "Ghulam" army w/ lots of drilled sup bow swords cavalry, I'd probably rather have 2 BGs of 4 ghulams than 1 bg of 4 knights. They are useful, but c...

They are delivery systems for troops w/ swordsmen and better armour PoA who get 2 dice per base. Having a lance is cool, but it doesn't work on some enemies or in terrain that is not open anyway. I guess they'd have their uses.

Take a look at this comparison and realise what a mistake you are about to make. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w188/SparrowHawk_photos/Infantry-size-comp.jpg I know these are not ancients but the difference between 20mm and 25mm is enormous. It's roughly the difference between somebody who's 5'...

Yeah, that's the thread I was thinking about. I let my opponents do this, perhaps I shouldn't but it feels a bit too restrictive in my opinion.

This has been answered before but I can't find the topic. The answer is "1" as long as the wheeling unit completely clears its neighbours so no bases are over each other.
