How about having a decent, non-corrupt government in Somalia along with better distribution of wealth to the people? How about that, huh?

In period they shouldn't meet a lot of Bw/Sw types (or maybe none at all), just plain Bw LH which they outclass in a 1vs1 matchup. As usual using stuff out of period creates less than optimal troop types, vide cataphracts.

Your drawing has a flaw in part two: the right flank of the mounted formation stays still, and becomes the new front of the formation. So your mounted blocks in 1 and 2 should be aligned at the top of the diagram, not the bottom in front of the enemy.

I think the ghulam-style cavalry (eheheh) is the best, definitely out of period and somewhat in period too. Cataphracts work well in large numbers otherwise they are easily avoided and they lose against a lot of decent foot and of course knights. There's room for everything, but afaic armoured cav a...

I will give my Nubes a run just for old times sake. I don't expect to win, but I do expect them to be very hard to break too.

Far more experienced and more successful players have explained to you how to use legions and why you failed at the tournament. If you are always right why do you bother asking other people? The fact you went to a tournament thinking your legions would beat same number of pike and knights frontally ...

Let's have a Renaissance version of FoG first. Much more similar to FoG as it is right now and some of the troop types we already have like bow/sword heavy cavalry, knights and pikemen. Also, no competition from any other ruleset for the Renaissance crown at the moment while there are lots of people...

I don't know where I wrote that 799 points lists offended me. I have lists I consider competitive at 800 pts ranging from 796 to 800 points. Some armies are just not very good at spending the odd 3 or 4 leftover points.

The Grandmaster is great! I'm glad to have him on board. (I couldn't get the blinking eyes and hatching chick to work on my website. Suggestions?) The Grandmaster is an animated gif, so an image that has several looping frames of animation. I don't think slideshare supports animated gifs and that i...

So less flexibility in army choice? Why bother? Let's keep things as they are. The only things I'd change would be the cost of a TC to either 34 or 36 pts. At the moment they are the only thing in the whole game that costs an odd number of points. I also think the FCs are a bit too expensive at 50 p...

Losing is by BG not by side fighting. So each BG that took more hits than it dished out will have to take a cohesion test and a death roll. Remember each BG that dished out as many or more hits than it took will still need to do a death roll although w/ a +2.

That's great. You even added the madaxeman style captions! The models are really good-looking as well. If there's one possible improvement to be made is to take wider shots so we can see more of the action. The ones you have show the painting quality very well but sometimes it's hard to understand t...

I'm sure by play lists you mean beta lists, right? Tim should take those down if they are not legal any more to avoid this sort of confusion.
