Re: Map Scale and Size/Make Up of Units

leightwing, This is a perplexing question but the flexibility provides the designer with a huge variety of options. In UoC, the maps are provided, so you always know the scale you are working on but I found that restricting. We have had in-depth discussions on the scale issue before. "Absurd" is in ...

Re: (WIP) Allied Airborne Campaign

. Perhaps battalion sized units? Battalion should work well for airborne. I think a half-a-klik scale? would be good. better check the doctrine for Airborne Battalion frontage so your map scale will work out. I would like the players core forces to only be slightly smaller than non-core support uni...

Re: Play more strategy

If you are caught on the battlefield with and accordion, you are automatically guilty of a war crime according to the Geneva Convention of 1912 Use of accordions in battle is justifiably a crime against humanity! Just see how we have fared since the bagpipe was legalized ... the horror! the horror! ...

Play more strategy

My wife said,
"You have been playing your computer game way too much!"
I said,
"I know. Come to think of it, I haven't touched my accordion in weeks."
She said,
"O, never mind. Enjoy yourself!"

Leightwing,
Nobody checks pickup games locked or not.
I have no idea how to catch someone at it.
I can't tell one ass whippen from another one.

Also, there's no rating system for pickup game players.

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2

Gabe, Macasrenhas Thanks to both of you! I will incorporate your comments -- I'll probably have to do a few more play throughs. I tried to trim the big map but the changes don't take and if they do, the scenario won't play anymore. I'll advise future developers not to take the approach I took. Macar...

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2

Mascarenas, Thank you, I am going to put a note in the brief for the 3d Div Commander to use the partisans to slow down the trucks and call in interdicting TACAIR fire. But Gabeknight had a point, if a player plays on level 1 or 2, and destroys all the trucks in three turns or so, then there won't b...

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2

Thank you, Gabe.
Your comments are invaluable!
Gabe, hope you enjoy the last four scenarios. The next two have been heavily reworked. Hope they play well and you enjoy them.

All, sorry I missed so many nits on the last go-through, but your comments will help me fix all in the final version.

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2

Zekedia, On a separate note, were there Hummels or other similar SPGs at Avellino? From HISTORY OF THE THIRD INFANTRY DIVISION IN WORLD WAR II (part V, Southern Italy) "Nature and the ages had provided impregnable defensive positions for enemy motorized infantry and self-propelled guns...[The German...

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2

Zekedia, I never noticed that it took a long time. The map is sort of large but not huge, and there's not a large number of enemy present. Some of the scenarios in Germany take a long time to load, and maybe the next two scenarios after Salerno (because there are two scenarios on one large map). The...

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2

Zekedia, Thanks! Glad you are playing the campaign and thanks for commenting. Mascarenhas pointed out that the Shermans were already available by Sicily, so I will use them in the final version. I put some airfields on the battlefield but I will make sure that I fix so if a player exits on an exit h...

Re: First Tournament

Shards, we'll also adjust up both of your scores for that bugged out game Cool. But more important is the bad log-in issue. I have to log out, log in, try 3 times, log out, log in, try 3 times, and I get in. Reduces the fun quotient a little bit. conboy wow -- looks like I've been "promoted" to seco...

Re: First Tournament

Shards,
Moonshill is participating in the remaining match. Next time I will drop him a message inquiring about the cancelled game.
Forgot this time.

Separate issue: Why does it now almost always take at least three attempts to log in to PvP?

Maybe Moonshill figured out how to resign. I remember reading that you can't resign. But Moonshill hasn't been around since early this morning.

Thanks for doing what you do!
