Re: Favorite Army

My favourite is Transylvanians. How come the Transylvanians Richard? I am just a vampire at heart. And I can make the troop combination work, given a reasonable amount of terrain on the map. Beware the Transylvanian forest! (Especially within a 20 mile radius around Castle Dracula).

I guess I'm not very observant...

I was playing a game with Louis XIII's French army when I was watching my Dragoons move forward, Lo and behold, the figures mount their horse when moving and dismount when they stop! What a wonderful touch! After all these years I never noticed. Yeah I know small minds and all that... But it would h...

Re: Favorite Army

It would be impossible for me to pick one favorite, but a few standouts - The early English lists with their mix of bows, bills, and arquebus Russian lists, with Bardiche and Arquebus armed Streltsy acting as an anchor for Bow armed, armored cavalry, supported by lance and bow armed cossack light h...

French (Italian Wars) with their big blocks of Swiss Cheese and nice Gendarmes. Also partial to the Ottomans and the Polish.
So you're fond of those big Swiss Pike blocks then? Ottomans are a potent army, not too fond of fighting against them though...

Favorite Army

What is your favorite army and why? Doesn't matter which time period, from approx. 1500-1700. What factors influenced your choice? Was it just from playing one so much that you got comfortable with it? Or perhaps a certain historical period appealed to you? Or maybe you were more the type that enjoy...

Battle to darkness.

Recently I've had two games that have gone the distance till nightfall. And in both of them I was declared the loser, although in one, I was ahead in causing damage to my enemies troops. Anyone frequently battle till darkness falls? And maybe more importantly lose the match even though the enemy has...

Re: The More I Play This Game...

There is great depth in this game, and every once in a while the AI pulls off a wonderful move, much to my surprise. The other day I was playing 1513+ ish Scots army against those nasty English meddlers. Well first turn the English had their army pretty well arrayed as I would expect them, with the ...

Renaissance Army Lists

Hi all. Does anyone have a source of an online list of armies that shows who fought who during the period from roughly 1500 till 1700?
I'm unable to find one, and my financial resources are rather slim for purchasing any in the foreseeable near term.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Burma Campaign

Will there be a DLC for the Burma campaign? Or possibly playing as the Japanese as they sweep through Asia? OOB does a fairly good job at this, was wondering if PC2 might also.

Placing of AT guns.

Hello. I've returned to playing the Close Combat series recently and am enjoying it again immensely. But I am absolutely flummoxed as how to place AT guns so that they are not spotted almost immediately. I know that if you right click on a piece of ground that a description comes up to its defensive...

Re: Ancient Brits

So if I'm understanding you guys then, loose order warband are medium warband which equals medium foot? I know FOG 1 and FOG 2 are miles apart, but medium foot that were impact foot in FOG 1 were not necessarily classified as warband as far as I can tell( or am I wrong here developers?). Heavy foot ...
