Re: Southern League round - Abingdon, 10 December 2017

Thanks Nik

I was also after the official Errata (that is the original 1.0 errata you could download from the BHGS site, all links to it seem to go to a 404 page) so I can see the full wording for the Vienna 1683 option for the Austrian HAsburg List, I may be just mad enough to try and use it.

Re: Southern League round - Abingdon, 10 December 2017

Where can I find the points values for troops we are using for this, and is there an army generator that will work?

Ben Jones will definitely be there, especially after having beaten Tom, Bob and Jerry with my practice army.

If I am still in the country, might be shipped out to Oz by work for 6 months, I will be along. Can also do list checking even if abroad.

Having had some buccaneers bring a ship which they only got out once, only shot once, we feel that 30pts is very high. Maybe 15 would be more like it, after all they have 6" range and 2 dice. makes them slightly better than Lt Artillery w/o the range, but much easier to stay away from, and they don'...

Re: Bows

Although there where not many Bows between the armies at Way of the Warriors, we felt the reduction in short range to 3", really had very little effect to the outcomes. Also the feeling on Horse bow down to 3" means they have to get close enough to Arquebus and Carbine units to be hit back as well a...

Re: Potential Dates for 'Way of The Warriors' 2017

If we are going to do this we will need quick replies. There may also be limited space as we will need to leave tables for club members so it may be first come first served. Will: Please could you post here the full list of people you were expecting, so we can check everyone off. So far I have comin...

Re: Proposals summary for playtesting

I wasn't actually suggesting that Bw* should have a price, just showing it as an example of how Cavalry have got a lot cheaper as they now also don't have to pay for it. Sorry if my language implied any different.

Re: Proposals summary for playtesting

I have now played two tournaments with the new amendments, 3 games of ecw and 5 of Indian. My thoughts are: 2. I totally agree with the drop in price for det horse, cavaliers, gendarmes, elephants. I think cavalry have dropped far too much. With the price reductions for most of the weapons they use...

Re: Proposals summary for playtesting

Came up with a couple of interesting scenarios over the weekend, both dealing with Artillery. Cavalry charge into troops supporting artillery during the impact, rout them, and the cavalry stop on the guns having taken them and routed their supporters 1) Can the cavalry be shot at by other troops, du...

Re: Potential Dates for 'Way of The Warriors' 2017

Not completely useless, as at long range they only hit on 5-6, but I do get your point. Will see how Tandoori does this weekend at campaign. The only other + is Sushi are generally Superior so pass more tests. Could leave the Hvy Armour at home and take another Ashigaru. As with new armor rules woul...

Re: Proposals summary for playtesting

Yes they can. If you have more than one piece of terrain that could hide dragoons, Plantation, Enclosed Fields, Woods, Village, Gully (May not be exclusive list) you could put ambush markers in up to three spots and mark down which one really has the dragoons. With respect to the madaxmans comments,...
