Re: Field of Glory II 1.5.12 Update - Allies Feature!

The server speed now seems to be back to normal. Hi,I got a question and a suggestion about the new dlc wolves at the gate ,in the new dlc,the note said some shieldwall units and many muslim infantry units, also, early skoutatoi, have supporting archers, but I didn't see them or see any POA points caus...

Re: I saw the challenge 2's export, still can't continue the battle when win it in FOG2

The FOG2 retreat function is disabled for Empires battles, because otherwise it is possible to escape a battle with no losses by exporting to FOG2 and then immediately hitting retreat. This would be an exploit. If Empires allowed a retreat to be attempted prior to the battle, it should be done at t...

Re: I saw the challenge 2's export, still can't continue the battle when win it in FOG2

Yes. Quite often you will see significant (even the majority) of losses for the losing side in the Pursuit phase instead of the actual battle (true for both Empires and FOG2 battles). Thanks, another thing I wanna ask, could the game add an active retreat function(If the situation allow the army to r...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Wolves have arrived

I do have a campaign started I think it is the 3rd century crisis one but I don't recall this situation you describe. I will have to start it up again. When you say they don't charge how far away in hexes are they from the infantry - the lancers I mean. Do they ride up or sit at the baseline? So I ...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Wolves have arrived

I don't have to use them in a custom battle I have played both with and against late Roman armies in tournaments. You have to pin the lancers with your infantry and then hit them on the flank with your cavalry. It seems like you are thinking too linearly. Lancers can get out of position easily when...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Wolves have arrived

I was just pointing out where the idea came from. It is a way to simulate units that used missiles in a supporting function and to differentiate them from units of pure bowmen which are present in the late Roman armies. You should not think of them in an offensive way. Use the HI as you would any o...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Wolves have arrived

The infantry units got 20% archers as defensive POA,but if enemy don't charge, they're use less I have been playing around with those guys recently and that has been experience as well. There is very little incentive to attack them until it is time to roll them up. assuming they fired at 30% in the ...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Wolves have arrived

No but both are based on the TT game, which where the rear rank bowmen as a POA factor comes from. Based on but not all,and many things are different from the original table top game,FOG1 made the back rank archers can do active shooting but FOG2 not,I don't know why, really will make you very passi...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Wolves have arrived

You've had this discussion multiple times with RBS. He's been very clear: it's not going to happen. I don't think trying to open the discussion for the 5th or 6th time is going to change that. Just hope one day he will change the mind, most of times the enemy AI will choose not charge to the late in...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Wolves have arrived

I hope this time can also add the back rank archers to the late roman infantry units. That will not be happening. But some of the Byzantine army lists have Skoutatoi units of 50% Bow, 50% Defensive Spearmen. Late roman infantry units got 20% of bowmen,I think give them models and make them can do a...

If you have many light cavalries you will catch and deal with them easily.Purchase all the light cavalries in your army list when you will face large numbers of light infantry.

Re: I saw the challenge 2's export, still can't continue the battle when win it in FOG2

Empires calculates the results of the pursuit automatically. It will not "let the enemy go". The FOG2 battle may end when the enemy reach 40% losses, but the Empires pursuit calculations after the battle results are imported will often wipe them out almost completely. You means, that is automaticall...

Re: I saw the challenge 2's export, still can't continue the battle when win it in FOG2

So if you could play FoG2 to the end then it would be too high losses That's what I want, destroy the enemy's army at once in most of times,I think I should have that free and commander has right and power to make decision of let the enemy go or not. Empires calculates the results of the pursuit aut...

Anybody notice those little 5 man units in the top Irish-Viking jpeg? They aren't skirmishers.
Those are berserkers I think.

I saw the challenge 2's export, still can't continue the battle when win it in FOG2

@Pocus In the DasTactic's challenge 2's video,I saw he can't do this in export battle like the end of fog2's custom battle and epic battle(see these two pictures). In the export battle the game just said"The enemy has lost heart. You are victorious",then click on "ok",the battle will end,not like this...

Re: The units in game are too few

Rome has admittedly fewer units to play with than others nations, as the Legion, pre-Marian includes all infantry subtypes it was made of. In FOG2 the unit will be split into hastati, principes, triarii though. Also as you gain more provinces, you'll have access to extra special units, the so calle...
