Re: Garrisons of conquered countries

We don't garrison because there are no partisans. I suppose partisans weren't as big a deal in WW1 because - Belgium, Serbia and Romania aside - there wasn't that much occupied territory (the non-Russian parts of Russia that Russia lost, such as Poland, were hardly going to rise up in the tsar's sup...

Poland

Here's an idea for the expansion ... vote for Poland At some point (1917? or triggered some event? someone with more detailed knowledge of the history can throw their two bits in here) I suggest that the CPs and (if Russia is still active) the Entente get the option of playing the Polish card: pay a...

Re: Expanding the war: Netherlands, Rumania, Sweden, Norway

Presumably this is done to give small powers the ability to maintain a half-decent army. They have to do it independently, after all, not as satellite states like in CEAW. However, if 1) it is possible to easily capture these places - and let's wait until someone actually tries Sweden before saying ...

Re: Scrap the German Fleet!!!!

I kind of enjoy sailing fleets across the blue... and would actually prefer to move convoys manually so I could choose what route I want them to take. But, yes, a zonal approach would have been more realistic given the speeds that ships move, albeit messy to integrate with a hex-based land map.

And I think this all still holds despite petertodd's (good point) observation about the cost of maintaining infantry.

Trento

there is no PP value for Trento on the map (when you press the space bar). Even if it is 0, it should say so, right?

Re: Scrap the German Fleet!!!!

Makes me wonder if there should be a morale penalty for disbanding BB's, say, half the penalty for losing them in battle.

Re: Scrap the German Fleet!!!!

Even in the 'what if' scenario of an Allied landing on the German coast you don't really need the BB to deal with it. Of course the BB would make it easy. :)

gas

Is there a way to tell if either side has used gas yet, and if so who? Playing as the CP's I am trying to avoid it and am fairly sure I haven't upgraded any artillery since I got gas tech. (Incidentally, it would nice to be able to upgrade and say no to gas now that it has such a big diplomatic effe...

Re: Two things the game needs now!

well, in CEaW if you attack with a bomber the fighter escorts you so i think that here too I didn't think so... Either way, it would be nice to have a "sentry" feature as in CEAW GS, so your fighters won't escort if you don't want them to. Especially since they're willing to fly even when their str...

I thought I was clever, too, making sure that extra garrison was there to deliver the knockout blow. And then once it didn't work... :) You never know!

You picked a good scenario - from my limited experience it's a tough one for the CP's. I've already got 6 games going, though, so I'll have to pass for now. Thanks anyway!

In the games I've played it was likely to be Bulgaria shifting PP's to Germany - not very likely, historically :)

If you add a star for the Ottomans there needs to be a balancing star on the Entente side - for Italy, maybe?

naval upgrade info

You can find out what an upgrade will give your unit by selecting 'upgrade' and right clicking. But that only seems to work if an upgrade is possible right there and then. So is there a way to find out what (if any) upgrades are available to a naval unit at sea?

note to self

A nice feature to add to a patch or expansion would be the ability to write notes to yourself (e.g. "don't forget to buy rail capacity!"), similar to the chat window but not visible to the other player.

question about focal points

If you have a lab with a focus, and sell the lab before the focused tech is complete, how long does it take to get the focus point back? I notice in the display it still shows as focused (i.e. the blue highlight).
