Re: Mathematicians, playing Empires often makes me tired.

Thank you all for your input, I have read every post and I think that I will go ahead and let the Governors do their jobs once a Province is formed. That would certainly solve a lot of the weariness from clicking and working each and every Region. Trade is a different animal other then the little bi...

Mathematicians, playing Empires often makes me tired. (solved)

I work really hard at trying to enjoy playing Empires, I really do. After the first few moves, say fifteen turns or so until mid-game it always turns into a chore of balancing numbers. The math, I constantly have to calculate in my head to balance my empire’s combat and trade. The map is nice, the p...

Re: Objectives given without any ratio and sense

The next patch will not add objectives in enemies nations that are not your neighbor (sea neighbor valid though), this should remove the more distant objectives. 1.0.6...is this the one that will make the far flung objectives go away? Full Changelog ... GAMEPLAY and SETUP (improvements and fixes) •...

Patch 1.05 New game Rome

It sure was nice getting 1.05 so quickly. I think that I will start a new game as Rome on balanced and see how it plays. Nice work guys! :)

Re: Objectives given without any ratio and sense

My conclusion is you need to be very careful with alliances. You may end up at war with someone that you have no interest or intention of fighting yet receive objectives related to that war. As the Dacians, I was allied with the Dardarni. The Romans attacked the Dardarni and I was at war with the R...

Re: Objectives given without any ratio and sense

In my opinion, dynamic objectives are a good thing, and with the tweaks coming in 1.0.5 things will be better. Having fixed objectives is going to make things a bit predictable and can alter replayability. Dynamic objectives with the factors mentionned by Pocus (Relations with the other nation, pop...

Re: Objectives given without any ratio and sense

There will be some further tweaks on dynamic objectives in 1.05. They are only given if you are at war or really hate the guts of a given nation (like -50 rels or worse). Then, a region from one such nation is picked, provided it has either a world wonder or a combination of 20 population and tier ...

Re: Thoughts on the new patch...

The patch has added frustration for me. Losing manpower and metal every turn and having far flung objectives being set that make no strategic sense is preventing me from enjoying the game the way I used to before the patch. Damn, I really liked this game too.

Re: Objectives given without any ratio and sense

I'd just like to chip in on this. 290 turns into a game with the new patch and have had some leaders give me objectives that were completely unrealistic but I just ignored them (you don't HAVE to go for them you know) and usually when a new ruler arrived they were changed for much closer and more a...

Re: Objectives given without any ratio and sense

If I am playing as Carthage why would I want to capture Syracuse on my way towards Rome when I could grab a nondescript territory out by the Caspian Sea? :P

Re: Field of Glory: Empires “Triumph” (1.04) Update is out

I sure hope that they will patch the patch soon, the metal and manpower penalties are taking the fun out of the game. I think that something may be up with the Objectives routine as well, as Rome I have been having far flung objectives being set that never occurred before the patch.

Thanks for help.I certainly need it.
Empires is one of those rare games that is easy to play and difficult to master. I view every game that I play as a learning experience. The game has so much replay value that it keeps me wanting to learn more and more.
