Neil, are there any areas that you have identified that the AI could do better that would make it more difficult at the small AI advantage? Build different units, etc? What was the easiest theater of battle when you play win easily? just curious... thx!

Does it matter what the revision number is?

ancient - this will be done in the next beta, the Vichy units will be garrisons instead is there a list of what will be in the next beta? a developers log may be a nice way to keep people involved and see the progress... This is what I had in mind: http://www.muzzylane.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2045

I have played the 1944 scenario as the axis several times and the allies cannot launch D-Day (1st turn) very well at all... they do not always land all of the troops eligible to land---a minor catastrophe since I can then attack them with subs and planes... and they have less troops to defend/attack...

1.03 Feedback

I heard there had not been much feedback so I thought I'd add what I could... i am playing the 1943 scenario as the allies with the Axis having a large advantage. It seems the AI is building far too many submarines, airplanes and to a lesser degree armor. They have built virtually no infantry and I ...

In a future fix, I think there needs to be the ability to build fortresses. Hopefully this can get put in. There has been no compilation (that I have seen) of the what would be nice to have and what is really needed to enhance the game... I think building fortresses would be a nice to have but ther...

The oil bug will be fixed for next patch. There are reasons for not relasing too many hotfixes and it should really only be used for crashes. We do not want to release a doussin of patches for CEaW instead we want to keep them big. Especially this is better due to ppl not having to update so often ...

What do you guys think of a WW I expansion? any expansion would be nice but WWI is so static on the Western front at least that if the game was historical would it be fun to play? turn after turn of casualties with no movement would be dry...fluid mobile battles would probably be more entertaining

Doh... now I get it. I was just walking around the neighborhood with the dog and I had an idea.. What if instead of the sea hex being changed or having to present too much info, the coast line (the line between the ocean hex and the land hex) changes color depending on the weather?: Red= rough seas ...

Be nice. The game is already very good (best out there currently for its strategic era). I think it can be excellent with the correct adjustments. An idea perhaps would be just a weather button. Click it and all the hexes appear with their weather sybmol, unclick and its gone. Like in the mini map ...

Scandinavian region would be far harder than Mediterranean I imagine to get the weather necessary to support a larg...

My inspiration was a remake of War in Russia. the 22 mile map will have about 47 hexes between Leningrad and Odessa which should give a more operational feel to the russian campaign. To start I am producing a sketch version of the map which the game editor can handle. Then a scenario can be constru...

Well, playing the 1943 scenario as the Axis with the maximum advantage to the allies is interesting! I managed to hold the USSR at the Dneiper until June 1944 and then the dam burst. They had a massive amount of units at high technology levels and I could do nothing to slow them down as they destroy...

why can't the map be on a different scale and/or the time periods shorter to simulate the conflict that is in question? I don't see that the engine is that inflexible.

I imagine this engine would work well for the Arab-Israeli wars in the 50s and 70s, mobile battles with mixed forces.. or a theoretical battle between Warsaw Pact and NATO...wonder if it could work for the Civil War or Revolutionary Wars?

A good Challange

Or at least it is for me, play the 1943 scenario as the Axis and give the large advantage to the Allies.. Allies launch invasion in North and South of France,, I have eliminated them many times but am being worn down. in Russia, I retreated to the Dneiper (Kursk attack was canceled) and I am holding...
