Re: Destroyer vs sub

Another thing.
Subs that do not move should not be revealed by sonar if I remember correctly.
It seems this rule doesn't apply to AI subs, this one was attacked two turns in a row while sitting still. It did attack in t-1.

Light cruiser vs destroyer

I've always felt the light cruiser generally was slightly under-gunned.
It should be better than a destroyer in an attack vs a destroyer.
Both Japanese ships moved max distance last turn.
I know the distance to target is different...

Destroyer vs sub

Currently a destroyer can launch depth charges over a ship between the attacker and the sub.
I think ships should block depth charges similar to blocking torpedo runs.

Select the air unit in the unit list. Shift-click on an empty hex.

Re: Support ship

I know it can self-repair when strength hits 3, but this is common to all ships. I would like it to be able to repair itself like it can with other ships.
Same conditions; no move/attack/being under attack.

Re: Torpedo plane MGs

I see, so it should be possible to sink a destroyer with only 1-strength left.
I can live with that.

The estimate was dead on. And I've seen several similar results.

Torpedo vs destroyer

I think one of the loading tips mention that torpedoes are effective against capital ships and not smaller ships like destroyers.
This air unit is about to take 5 strength points off a destroyer. 1-2 points should be enough against a fast-moving highly maneuverable boat.

Support ship

Should a support ship be able to repair itself?
The tools are available and within reach.
The ship in the screenshot has been idle for one turn and has not attacked/been attacked.

Torpedo plane MGs

It just feels wrong when a torpedo plane can inflict 2 hits on a destroyer (and sink it) using just machine guns.
I'd rather lose this offensive capability.

Re: Multiple Sonar search

Ah, my bad. The Crop circle stays at 3 hexes during the sonar sweep, but I notice the tool-tip says 2 hexes.
Thanks
You would think I had learned this after playing for nearly a year...

Multiple Sonar search

Run one Sonar search and then immediately run the next (new ship of course). Often the second search fails to spot the sub revealed by the first search. But if you do something else with a different unit between the two sonars, the second search is fine. In the screenshot the 8-strength DD has launc...

Re-reading the quote of my own post. It dawned on me that I should actually update my invasion scenarios as per the post

They are part of the Resource file. You can access them by name in an event, but of course you need to know the name...
Adherbal posted a picture file listing all event pictures.
You need your magnifying glass

Re: Fantastic game - here's my first impressions

I prefer doing the shore landings too. Leave the Japanese in fortified posititions along the beach and have the Japanese do the first turn. That way the defending player may opt to defend on the beaches or withdraw inland. On turn-2 the Japanese player may build MG nests and bunkers if there are eno...

Scenarios not installed?

Looks like the server check wether you have a particular scenario installed does not always agree with my PC. Note the Papua scenarios in the screenshot, one is black (ongoing game) and the other is red (not installed). For what its worth, I also have the '1v1 Burma 1942-45' installed even though it...

Have you tried a clean install and then the upgrade to v1.7 ?
It is not clear (to me) in your post if you have done that.
Also, delete everything in the Settings folder.

Re: Erik's Multiplayer Scenarios

Erik, any chance of creating a multiplayer scenario that allow first player to control naval ship and second player to control air force? That was 2 players need to coordinate well and give me a chance to scream at my friend "where is my air support" lol Thx Ps love your work and hard work hehehe T...
