Re: Erik's campaigns

On behalf of myself and my little helper (just kidding Bruce...), thank you for the kind words.
Players enjoying these campaigns make it worthwhile spending a few hours with them

Re: Sluggish AI

I've created scenarios with more units (at least 150), so that should be ok in itself. What is the scenario with the most units you have created ? I have not kept track of number of units for each scenario :D But since I basically use my 1 resource income pr unit pr turn this roughly equals the num...

Re: Sluggish AI

I've taken a look at the scenario in the editor. Quite some complex trigger stuff here, worthy of the famous Bru Sweep whenever the scenario's ready. I notice that you have 50 units in one team with Static Defense order. If these units are later activated and receiving a 'normal' order I think the A...

Re: Sluggish AI

I've created scenarios with more units (at least 150), so that should be ok in itself. Maybe create more AI teams with fewer units in each team? 10-15 units pr team is my standard, but I've had 20-30 land units without problems. I usually find it better to use Local Defense tasks with a radius set t...

Re: 4k monitor

I really love how this site handles attachments...

Anyway, Bru.
I suppose a modern souped-up laptop may handle 4k resolution on an external screen, but there may not be too many with this resolution as standard laptop screen.

Re: 4k monitor

Here's the initial screen in Red Star's single player standalone Raseinai scenario.
Note that I had to reduce image resolution to about 75% to make the screenshots fit the site limit.

4k monitor

It is a bit slow around here, so let me promote the use of a 4k monitor playing OOB. With a little editing of the variables.txt you can enjoy OOB in all its splendor. // Camera zoom limits defaultZoomLevel = 30 defaultMinZoom = 10 defaultMaxZoom = 100 defaultMaxZoomEditor = 100 zoomout.jpg zoomin.jpg

Bru

The last part of the branches is a bit complicated with the alternative Nijmegen and Eindhoven scenarios.
I believe this is fixed now and I will PM you a new link.

Infantry recruit specialisation

Here's an idea. We currently have various German/Soviet armor/AT specialisations were these units get a bonus in attack/defense when they are adjacent to another similar unit. Why not add a similar specialisation to Conscript/Volksturm/US Recuits where these units get a bonus when fighting adjacent ...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Bruce Once again, a big thank you for another excellent sweep. Germany East 41-42 is a rather old campaign, no wonder you found some 'standard' issues there. Good timing that other player's had just reported back some play issues as well. I've been updating scenarios as soon as they were swept, so a...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

The fighting around Narvik is probably the most interesting as the Allies actually beat Dietl's Gebirgsjäger troops, until some incident in France and the Low Countries caused the Allies to shift focus and left the Norwegian to themselves.

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

I would add the ill-fated Norwegian campaign to the Darkest Hour. This could be a nice combination of air-land-naval battles involving British, Norwegian, French Polish and German forces.

Halftrack vs truck

I may have asked about this earlier.
Anyway, it is still bugging me :D

Why can't the German half-track attack an enemy unit in a truck?
It can fire at infantry on foot. Shouldn't make a difference.
Is this intended?
