Re: My guilty cheating pleasure

I'm not really embarrassed about me using a couple of cheat codes, but I'm a little shy to admit what completely stupid stuff I'm using them for and how much I'm enjoying it.

My guilty cheating pleasure

I just finished 44 West on FM and I was quite challenged. I had to accept MVs on a couple of the scenarios. I've been debating whether to admit my guilty little cheating pleasure to the community or not. I decided I will. I use 2 cheat codes, but the combination of those 2 has been a lot of fun for ...

Re: Kradschützen in '41

I agree with most of this. They should probably be in the recon group. When I started the DLCs over again from 39 I used a cheat code to get myself two of them a couple years early. I could not think of a good reason not to. They were very useful in 39 and 40. As soon as 41 came around (when they ar...

Re: Any point in getting a stalingrad decisive victory?

I noticed that there was not a response to your question yet.

I wish I had a good one. I only played Stalingrad once and that was back in the late spring/early summer. I do remember that I went for the DV and it was really painful.

Re: Legality question - modding related

This is good to know. I'm glad someone asked this question. I was planning on creating a little something, but I figured that I would not reinvent the wheel and just use my favorite maps from various DLCS.

I'm glad I did not waste my time. Oh well. Map-making is kind of fun.

Re: Pause Enemy Turn

I would like a replay enemy turn button also. My toddler tends to pick the exact wrong time to bug me and then I just can't figure out which core unit just got annihilated.

I've had luck similar to that...but never quite that bad. It looks like you threw a whole lot at that poor guy. He is tenacious!

Re: French Campaign Misery

Some scenarios are harder than others to get DVs on. It has been many months since I played that scenario, but I remember I liked it. I don't remember the objectives to get for a DV, but I say as long as your core losses are reasonable, take the MV and move on. It is a long war, and there are plenty...

Re: Please help with user error

I have Windows 7 on a 3 year old Toshiba laptop.

I'm not an expert, but I have played around and deleted things in the registry on older computers.

Please help with user error

I made an error I can't seem to undo. I was playing the game in windowed mode and an emergency came up where had to check something on my desktop quickly. I pushed the game to the left side of the screen quickly (too far). When the emergency was over I tried to drag the game back center screen and i...

Re: Victory from first playthrough

I hope I don't sound too much like an arrogant ass, but I expect to win at the default setting. As a Panzer/Allied/Pacific General veteran of hundreds of battles I completely expect to win. It is both rare and shocking when I do not. In this game losing is usually a very slow process. It is an accum...

Re: Losing Core Units

I chose number 3. I don't like it much, but it happens. I am getting concerned that I'm most of the way through DLC 42-43 West and I am still unable to develop a core. I've had so many losses that I only have 4-5 units that have 2 stars or more. That does not bode well for 44. Edit: After a few loss...

Re: A case of magically appearing enemy units

Please pardon the rant. I'm playing on FM, and for the first time ever I have to restart at a much lower difficulty level. I too am getting insanely frustrated. I'm might be the only German general that longed for the Good Old Days on the Eastern Front. The Western Allies are utterly annihilating me...

DLC 42 West Importing Core Question

I just noticed that DLC 42-43 West is coming out next week. I've got a question.

The description states that you have the option to import a core, but where do you import it from? Afrika Corps? DLC 41 East?

I could just wait a few days to find out - but it would be nice to know now.

Re: How good is kradschützen?

I like the mobility. I keep one in my core - just not as a front line troop. I have found success as a cavalry replacement. I use it to take very poorly defended positions or positions that have been subdued or vacated. It seems to work pretty good as recon along the flanks too. I used one all throu...

Re: Hero Durability

I am not too fond of the idea. Accurately keeping track of heroes is already a bookkeeping chore. Randomly losing heroes might quickly turn the chore into a full-time job. The option of dismissing unwanted heroes in the hope of getting a better one soon is kind of cool, but may prove to be unbalanci...

Re: Equipment\FX\Campaign Editor - New version 0.8.0

I downloaded it and gave it a quick look. I'm a little hesitant to use it due to some problems I had earlier this month doing a few minor mods to select units. I added a point to pioneer initiative and lost the minekilling ability after I saved. I did not see minesweeping or minekilling abilities li...
