Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the first UK map. It is really nasty to have no possibility to use your own planes against the enemy on the first turn to protect your transports. The first time I started, I lost quite a lot of units as I did not thought that the allies will start. On my second start, I was lucky and got r...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the Channel scenario. DV at turn 17, not difficult at all. Compared to the last scenario, it is really easy to achieve victory. There are only two Pearshing appearing from the south, and with not a lot of exp. Compared to West Germany, the allies airforce is quite small... A not concerning ...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the West Germany map. Quite an easy walkover the allies. DV on turn 15. Compared to East Berlin, with 3-5 stars units, West Germany is really easier, with mainly 2 stars units, especially for good tanks (Pershing) and good planes (Meteor). Making them 4-5 stars units will render the scenari...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the Berlin East scenario. Nice. The enemy units become really powerful. There are a lot of 4-5 stars units and thus, you are losing some strength point. It was not so difficult with my core. DV on turn 11. Some points: - There are no railways in Berlin. Thus, the railway guns cannot go thro...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished to play the Seelow Heights scenario. Excepting the second air wave which inflict some damages, it was quite east. Cleared the map and capture everything on turn 10. I even forgot the general, attacking with him. He survived with just 1 strength point. I was lucky. Concerning the T34-85 late...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the Koenigsberg map. Destroyed all attacking units on turn 8. Captured every hex on turn 10. Achieve all objectives on turn 13 (if I remember well). This map showed me how much KV2 tanks can destroy enemy infantry. The problem is that there are not so many good tanks killers on the map (KV-...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the Budapest map. Did not change a lot since the last time I played.
It was quite easy for me to achieve a DV. Nice map.

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Concerning the flowchart, it is corresponding to the campaign path. What is surprising is that you don't have to battle against the Russian to win if you fight in the west. MV or Loss in Wacht am Rhein should take you to Berlin, not West Germany. Considering your propositions, reducing the core size...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Talking about the flowchart, if you lose at Wacht am Rhein, it would be logical that you go the Berlin, and not West Germany, as you never won against the Russian. The other solution would be to make the player go through West Germany and then Berlin East.

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the Wacht am Rhein scenario. It is really easy. I could have DV at turn 11 (if I remember well). I could have captured every city before reinforcement could come. I however waited until the last turn. Talking about allies reinforcement, I would increase a lot the forces present, multiplying...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Just impressive how you managed to finish so quickly. I will take out my toolbox and change a few things ;). Thanks once again. I am perhaps not the best reference... But I had time to optimize my army. On this map, I was able to deploy 14 fighters, ~12 Tigers II (all my tanks with a +1 movement he...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the Netherlands. Nice map. I was surprised to see no (polish) paratroopers. The map from the original PG was interesting, as there was really a lot of paratroopers around the bridges, and the big allies force pushing forward to relieve these paratroopers troops. Here, it is more a blocking ...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the "The Breakthrough to Netherlands". It is quite easy. I was able to clear the map on turn 10. Capture every VH on turn 12. And have 25 units in place on A hexes on turn 14. The enemy main army never left Normandy. I was able to block him with the few available units until my heavy armors...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Finished the Gothic Line scenario. It is quite easy. I was able to clear the map from enemy units.
I had however a problem with the DV conditions. I had 12 units in the A hexes and only achieved a MV victory (having to wait for the end of the turns).
I even put a 13th unit and it results also in a MV.

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

D-Day map. Really a though one. It was difficult to keep my air force alive. I don't know if you put a bit too many 5 stars units, especially the Tempest/typhoon aircraft. What is a bit annoying is that the enemy can have more experienced units as the German (exp. cap at 460). I would also perhaps r...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Played the Moscow 43. Did not change a lot since the last version I played (SS-GTPG). The TA152H is however a bit surprising, as this plane flew for the first time one year later (nov. 1944). The FW190D is already an advanced version of the aircraft, but a TA152 is perhaps a bit too much. I would re...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

Played through the Dieppe 1 scenario (I want to go through the liberation of the 6th army). Nice scenario (DV 7/15). The second air wave came really early and was a pain. But killing the troops on the ground was easier... I did invest quite a lot of prestige however for upgrade and reinforcement. An...

Re: GTPG Grand Campaign v0.1

I finished the Sevastopol map, and I think that it could be improved. As soon as you crack the outer defenses, the rest of the map is a walkover. There are just 9 infantry units in the core of the city and most of the other city hexes, such as Dzhanshley, Yukharina, Omega or Kadykovka are empty. In ...
