Fixing Unit Data

I'm not very savvy on computers and gaming constructs so it is hard for me to make certain changes that require multi-mode options. For example, how do I convert the CA (actually a PS) Deutchland to dual main battery and secondary battery modes like the BB Deutchland and BC Scharnhorst? All of these...

Re: Naval Authenticity Forum

Erik 2- saw you are on line and sorry for the delay in response. Where is the MAIN forum? My biggest query was how do I convert the CA Deutchland to a dual main battery and secondary battery like the BB Deutchland and BC Scharnhorst? All of these class ships had 11"/280mm main batteries: BB 2X2; CA ...

Historical Opposing Forces (Enemy OoB)

The greatest and single disappointment I have with this game is the totally unrealistic amount enemy forces encountered in almost every scenario. This is particularly true in the Blitzkrieg campaign when trying to take Moscow in '41! The odds, by my calculation, are about 8 to 1 in favor of the Russ...

Re: Suggestions, wishlist and ideas for Panzer Corps 2 gamep

I totally agree with Korutzelva! Historical battles should be sequenced by outcome. Good, bad, or stalemate should have outcomes, win, loose, or draw, respectively- (like PC1). A strategic Game needs to incorporate 5 Roles: -Resource (people, metals, coal, petrol) Acquisition -Material (vehicles, in...

Re: PzC 2 gameplay suggestions

One more suggestion about the "poor infantry" representation. They pretty much existed on the battlefield in 3 modes: 1. Mobile/moving/hasty attack without the support of their support weapons (tripode MMGs, mortars, fied cannons/infantry guns, etc.). 2. Deployed/hasty defence using available cover/...

Re: A new story begins... Panzer Corps 2 has been announced!

I don't understand anything "fuselets" was trying to say?! The only point I was trying to make is that war game without logistics are games of ATTRITION, not modern maneuver and "Mostly" capture.

Re: Give Units "Basic Load"

I think you will find the deterioration of capability is greater than 1 per turn. Also, the loss continues significantly even if the unit is not involved in combat!

Re: Give Units "Basic Load"

EVERY (conventional) para drop operation had a planned link up with ground forces! If the plan called for "extended" behind the lines operations, either additional supplies would be dropped with us- BUT NOT TOO MUCH, or we would expect additional, coordinated air drops of supplies. Once any unit beg...

Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2

Any Operational/Tactica l game should provide units to perform the classical 10 roles attributed to these two levels. The FOUR LEVELs are: 1. Strategic (resource acquisition, material production, diplomacy, (counter)intelligence, and technological research). 2. Continuity of Effort (Command and Cont...

Re: A new story begins... Panzer Corps 2 has been announced!

PC 2 will not match up to OoB unless it incorporates logistics/supply-maintenance-replacement linkage requirements.

I'm sorry, but this is all over my head! Can't you come up with a way to mod scenarios like PC?

As a former paratrooper who fought with the XVIII Airborne Corps in Dominican Republic (2Lt) and 101st Airborne Division (Cpt), I'm here to tell you that we DID drop with extra supplies: 1 day!

Give Units "Basic Load"

I modified the units file to add 3 fuel points to non-transports and 6 to Recon units and it works great. The rationale for this is to give units their standard "3 day" basic loads of ammo and fuel. Otherwise, units effectiveness deteriorates immediately if they are cut off from their supply source ...

Re: UNIT SCALE - qusetion

This is the problem with the scenarios! I was shocked by the OPFOR in the Blitzkrieg Campaign. I was able to solve this (in part) by drastically reducing the support requirements for the units in the unit file. All infantry =1; hvy inf and paras =2. For armored fighting vehicles I used the scale: Ma...

Modifying the Units File

I recently had a total crash of my computer and lost everything including what to use to open the units file other than Excel. The file used aligned all the columns making it quick and easy to modify the data. Could you please tell me what
to use, I probably will have to purchase the application.

Re: Naval movement

I did the same thing in my units file only I used 7 knots as the divider- works great. I also changed the firing ranges for all main and secondary batteries based on actual naval WWII firing tables. I also looked up the actual ranges for all aircraft and adjusted their loiter times (fuel) to match t...

Re: UNIT SCALE - qusetion

I like most of kondi's scale except for the infantry and tanks: Infantry should be regiments/brigades. Divisions, especially mobile ones (motorized/mechanized) had their own Recon (Aufklarungs abteilung), anti-tank, and anti-aircraft battalions AND an Artillery regiment. With 3 infantry regiments th...

Re: Cavalry

If I've got my "Order of Battle" correct the Germans only had 1 Kavalrie Div consisting of 2 Regiments. If memory serves me right, they fought with the 3rd Armee in Poland and HeeresGruppe B in the Netherlands (before being disbanded).
