This seems a reasonable solution. If each army will probably have four generals (a C-in-C and three sub-generals, I presume) on Medium to Huge maps, then what will be the rank of these generals (Troop, Field commander etc) on a Medium map compared to a Huge map?

Am I right in thinking there is no benefit to allocating troops to your C-in-C's command (other than his bodyguard) since he can affect all troops in the army anyway? Also there is no benefit of allocating light troops to a command either? I think it might be worth experimenting with a light cavalr...

My current theory is that there is another battle going on on the map next door and these troops have evaded onto my map, to escape pursuing enemy. Maybe they'll return to the other battlefield later.

My opponent says he didn't order the flank march and doesn't know why the extra troops have appeared. So it appears to be a mystery, and one that may never be solved.
