Re: Battlefield Europe v1.9 – The Race to Berlin!

I think I will also prepare a time-lapse of the turns 73 to 99 (and this time with fog of war off) to be able to better understand/assess enemy troop movements. Yes it would be really interesting! While the text gave much insight of the fights, the pictures can show only a moment of actions. I also...

Re: Battlefield Europe v1.9 – The Race to Berlin!

Thanks, nice AAR!
I just wonder, why it seems, that in the Ost-South the Soviet Steamroller pushed not for. In my playthrough earlier, it was almost impossible to halt.

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

I undestand, what you mean. On the other hand, I had never a prob...

Nope. Because McGuba is the main creator, I just help him with testing and with ideas and game desing. But he will surely do it some day. :)

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

I believe that the slow initial production of this AT gun had a major role in the Axis defeats during the 42-43 Soviet winter offensives. I strongly disagree. Less than half of the Soviet tanks were in the winter of 42/43 medium, or heavy tanks. For all other, the lower than 75mm calibres were enou...

Re: Italian Campaign 2.0 (v.1.95 on 6th April 2018)

I do not remember now, what were the causes to let only 4 assault hexes, probably, that I read more of the geography, or wanted to make more realistic. Yes, it is quite hard, I played also several times the landing phase, until I succeed. But I think, it's a good simulation for that, how difficult/a...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #1

Maybe a golden hex-circle would do the trick. In the Battlefield Europe mod is was also a discussion about that, as I remember, there was an optional solution to show radio tower as the symbol of victory hex. I guess, the purple and red hexes are representing occupied cities and airfields by the giv...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #1

I guess, the purple and red hexes are representing occupied cities and airfields by the given side. I hope, it will be changed to flags, as these big, colored hexes are like UFO-s, they stand out from the rest of the map.

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #1

Also many real-time WW2 "strategy" games have great 3D environment - sure the scale is different, but it cannot be an obstacle, as unit (icons) in PzC do not represent also one single unit, so it is just a symbol, as the terrain too. But still, it can be made nice. The 3d art of the OOB maps are ver...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #1

Thanks for clarification. In my desire to show more of the map, I'm afraid I did not do our units justice. :) Here is an example of how units look more zoomed in. This is actually a pretty extreme zoom level, so I'm not sure we'll use it in the game, but it should give some idea regarding the model...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #1

I understand your point, this is only an alpha stage 2D pic of a 3D graphics, but... I hoped, when you step over to 3D, than units will be much more detailed. I think, Talonsoft's East/West Front is also a good example, to make a more detailed graphics (there with trees/forest) in 2D, while not loos...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #1

While I'm just 40, but my eyes are not fully sharp (too much wargaming...? :D ), I like to play with my 24" monitor on 1280x720 - that way, the icons are also bigger, so I can impressed more of the nice armor. ;) Same here, mid-fifties now and I'm having to consider trading in my 14" 1920 x 1080 lap...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

Well, tank you very much! :) Hello All! Here is an experimental version of the game which should be able to handle 256 zones. It should be backwards compatible with any existing content, but the opposite is not true: older versions of the game will not load stuff created with this version. Also, in ...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

I think, it is the part of the history vs. what if discussion. If you make a game/mod, where the player can replay only the historical events, with minor differences, than it is important to stay at historical facts. If there are several options to make what if situations, than it is a fine balance ...

Good point, I agree with both! And I have a third. ;) Can you restrain Finnish Air to Finnish space and to the line north of Leningrad until the fall of Leningrad? Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v1.9

While I see the point, while Tobruk and Alexandria should be an upgrade port, I think, with that logic, London port should be also such a point. If Tripoli, Tobruk and Alexandria will be upgrade cities in NA (Tank upgrades are vital and shipping tanks back and forth between NA and Europe would break...

Re: Italian Campaign 2.0 (v.1.95 on 6th April 2018)

Recon is useful. :) Last time I bought one. Earlier I overstrengthened my fighters, this time not, because I could save some prestige with it. I used my two core AA batteries as much as possible (From 1942 I bought even a third 90mm AA temporally). At Odessa you have the "luxury" that you have aux p...
