I actually like the swedes too. They have been used to good effect in league play.

Pantherboy as usual is correct, cheap leaders will mean stronger horde armies. That is probably a bad idea. My usual leader mix is 1 at 500 points, 2 at 600 and 3 at 700, but lately I have been playing more mounted armies and have not decided how many generals to buy. Most of the mounted armies have...

In my opinion the early numidian list from ror is the worst army. Every units is LF or LC with javelin. The only person I have seen win with them is pantherboy, but rumour has it he had some guys armed with wet nuddles and beat an imperial roman army. So who knows.

I guess my point is if generals were cost effective, then the horde armies with 100+ Break points at 600 points and 1 general ( usually the cheapest available on LH if possible) would lose a lot. They do not. That means either generals are to expensive for what they do or the point system needs some...

In the current rule set, leaders are kind or pricey. If you have an army that can fight in any terrain or doesn't not need to move around a lot, you are better off with less leaders. (Inspired because of terrain choice) Double moves made leaders more useful, but they still aren't a major factor in t...

The lancers ended up in a stream hex. The river is kind of winding.

Various I have not seen in a while.

I am running 1.5.6 on the windows version of fog. I have seen the following potential bugs. Pike block getting all their pluses for Pike above 75 percent and spear above 50 percent when sitting on a river hex and disrupted due to terrain. I charged them with lancers. They should not get rear rank bo...

If it was around 50 percent casualties, it could have hit the mandatory route level.

Well I watched the turns that followed last night and the uncontrolled moral fail and it had no effect on subsequent turns as TheGrayMouser surmised.

They would be together. 500bc to 500ad? You notice quite a few of the armies span the entire period. In some cases fought it other. Seleucid was replaced by Parthian which was replaced by Sassanids. Everyone fought Rome or the Pike armies. The Sarmatians span the entire period, as do the Saka. Just ...

Uncontroled impetuous charges after movement is done.

I think this has been talked about earlier. I just noticed at the end of a turn, that about half my lancers went uncontrolled. (My moves were finished and they all ended up in charge reach of the enemy) I am not sure what this means in game terms. Do they charge uncontrolled in my next turn? Do they...

I find it interesting that if I charge a unit and it drops to disordered, then I can charge it in the rear the same turn it goes to fragged and can break. But if I charge it in the rear first, it can drop to fragged, but will never break if I subsequently charge it to front in the same turn. That is...

I think they will only breakoff if they think they are losing. The question is when does the computer think they are losing? I would like to be able to control when and if a CAV unit breaks off.

These were average cav sw/bow protected. This was a free company army, so I dont know what the bow moral was. But at 600 pts he had 51 BP and I had 38 (Ilkanids inspired general) I could have rolled well, It does happen every 100 games or so. I was surprised at the results, so wondered if they got 6...

I charged about 10 LB and XBOW medium foot in the open. (Not upkill or in a swamp) I charged through some LC. The mounted were armed with sw,bow and protected. I had no choice or I would have to engage the tiger 2's oops, I mean dismounted knights. I took very few hits across the board (maybe 10+ ch...

Missile fire at contact with medium foot bows/longbows/xbows

When you charge in frontally, are you suppose to take additional hits from missile fire? Or is that only with mixed units? Do mixed units lose a melee dice because the formation is less dense? Or are they handled like pikes where at 25 percent casualties or when you are disordered you take a penalty...

Of course for that to work you would need to disable the little black window where the combat results are displayed.

By the way, I have no problem with the randomness.

I think there still needs to be some visual indicator if a unit is in good order or low on hp. If you have a 256 man pike block, it becomes visually obvious when they start to lose cohesion. Older game systems illustrated this by push backs. You would see your guys pushing the other guys back. You w...
