Re: List Changes

"Any list that includes a minimum number of Dragoons that must be fielded has this minimum removed. E.g 3-8 becomes 0-8." We feel that given the significant changes to the way Dragoons work that this is appropriate. The cynic in me suggests that having emasculated them we don't want to foist them o...

Re: Southern League FOGR 2017 at Southampton

Thanks Bob. As always a team effort in particular regard to Mark who came up with the venue and transportable boards as we did not have access to the club ones. Mark also came up with the legendary comment to all and sundry: " Paul, the cups are a bit small to charge £1 for each tea or coffee. How a...

Re: News

How is a pole arm versus a Heavy Weapon?
No idea of the specifics but the idea was to make a pole arm better against mounted at impact but less effective than HW in melee. Just guessing but maybe pole arm won't have the armour cancelling ability that the can openers do.

Re: Southern League FOGR 2017 at Southampton

I thought Don Avis was going to take part.
I hoped so too so I wouldn't have to play!!

Presumably he couldn't make it as Alasdair had him on the list of players and was going to chase up a list from him.

Re: Southern League FOGR 2017 at Southampton

Some interesting choices of armies. Not seen Irish or Anglo-Irish on the table for FOG R. Less Scots than I expected. Yes, the Celtic fringe is well represented. I suspect the technologically advanced Europeans with their stylish and fashionable sartorial elegance are about to be buried by a lot of...

No Dene from Burton yet?
Double checked the posts and he hasn't mentioned it on this thread, so no idea.

Re: Southern League FOGR 2017 at Southampton

Numbers so far stand at nineteen but that includes Ben and Nigel who were hoping to attend so I still have them as tbc at the moment. As per last year I am not including myself so I can step in to even up numbers if necessary. Hopefully there may be a more even representation on the podium but as yo...

Re: Southern League FOGR 2017 at Southampton

Excellent although still not sure which Bruce you are; the only one I know is Rollett so apologies for my ignorance.

Seems an opportune time for a reminder that lists are due in to Alasdair, at the e-mail address above, no later than Friday September 8th please.

Re: Points costs, revised proposals

Whilst still not a fan of the Averages and Superiors break on 50% + amendment this finally addresses the issue from a points perspective for the foot so thanks for that.

Re: Attack! 2018

If all the new amendments are taken up you might as well include the Swiss as they are no longer as potent due to the autobreak change. Trouble is to field a proper Swiss army they now all need to be elites!

Re: Southern League FOGR 2017 at Southampton

Not looking forward to facing Dave's 24 heavy gun battery...... :D He hasn't got that many ( except in his dreams) even if it were allowed!!! I must admit being tempted to not bother even mentioning that particular restriction as our theme has never been troubled by the maximum artillery, mounted a...

Bruce
Ok Bruce added to the list subject to confirmation. Apologies but not sure which Bruce you are.
I am looking to attend - it's only a short hop from the Island!
Added you too Nigel, as our overseas contingent

Re: Southern League FOGR 2017 at Southampton

After careful consideration we have decided that this years Southampton round will be a last hurrah for FOGR rules, lists and points as written. So we will not be using any of the amendments excepting those which reflect, on the whole, what has been pretty much in use for some time now, namely: Arti...
