Re: Battle of the Kalka River 1223

We went through a playtest, so far the Mongols (all superior) seem to have too much of an edge. So likely some will get downgraded to average and we shall see how it goes from there.

Re:

Hello well done look forward to your scenario. The other battles we could look out for im not sure if any have been done. Are the battles fought by the successors of Alexander the Great when his commanders split up his empire and fought against each other. If somebody could look into that! As for t...

When you do so, you should disregard the unit strengths in the game. They are now 300 men each regardless of type. Look at an historical scenaro for what the real strengths should be. Hope that helps. I'm looking forward the a good version of the battle. Deeter I so far plan to have a single infant...

Thanks, its an interesting scenario.

Its an interesting scenario. The royalist right flank is very strong, to the point of "filling up the field" with units lining up to fight the ennemy in a cluttered position, which to be honest helps the Hussite player as the royalists are not able to make full use of their numerical superiority. Th...

Re: Battle of the Kalka River 1223

i) I have represented the very large Kievan contingent on the Rus side as a mixture of foot and horse (the battle was fought in what is Ukraine today) - but I have made the other contingents from Chernigov, Galicia, Volhynia, Kursk and elsewhere as entirely mounted. Is this correct? ii) do we know ...

Have an "ammo limit" option for projectile units. I'm fine with archers or slingers having a infinite ammo game-wise, but I get somewhat annoyed by javelinmen being able to fire 20 times in a row round after round. How many javelins can a single warrior realistically carry around? 3-4 max if you as...

DAG battles and multiplayer. Plus scenario creation (while possible even without the said module - thanks slitherine, I DO appreciate this a whole lot!) is easier if you own the module. All this made me purchase the "Rise of Rome" module (and I'll likely purchase the Immortal Fire and Swifter than ...

Well, I think (correct me if I'm wrong and missed some) nobody made this rather epic battle and there are not too many Mongol scenarios as of now. So I could suggest: Kalka River 1223: Combined forces of Rus principalities face the Mongol threat and lose. I alwasy had a stange sentiment for the doom...

Thanks for the kind words. Note to those who happen to own or played "Devils' Horsemen" a tabletop game of the "Great battles of history" series published by GMT games: - In the GMT version Kadan one of the Mongol commanders in this battle. However, in 1241 he was still just a small child and it is ...

Liegnitz 1241 scenario

http://uploading.com/files/ad33d55m/Battle%2Bof%2BLiegnitz.rar/ Hi guys, its my and Ardashir's scenario based on what we think is the most likely order of battle for this battle. As a short description: When Batu Khan's armies were overruning Hungary, a smaller mongol army - a 10 000 strong Tumen i...

It's TBD on those. There are some very large books with so many troops types we're not sure we can do them 1 for 1 so might have to pick the most popular parts and combine them together in to a couple of Lost Scrolls type releases. Well, as much as I'd like to see all the FoG book armies for PC, I ...

This may have likely been mentioned before, but:
1) Hotseat DAG battles.
2) DAG battles against the AI where the AI playes a DAG army created previously by the user.
3) DAG or multiplayer battels wher ethe user gets to chose wether he fights in green or arid.

Ok, let me add some of my own opinions (to those follwing this discussion, I live with Ardashir and we both play the game, but the expansions are coded to my account so we will likely be making post with my *Sabratha* account). ROME: I think the mid-republican Roman armies in the DAG actually can be...
