Re: So, work in progress.

I certainly have not had experience Russia falling easily, and even taking Warsaw is hard. It seems to me like Russia is overpowered. Same impression. I'll see what can be done about it. One thing that is gonna change things a bit is the commanders. Some minor nations will now get a range 1 command...

Re: So, work in progress.

I think taht one used the "Free PP per faction" option which I don't really like.

Re: Great War Stukas? B-52's?

I'd rather see the air units not deal damage, but influence subsequent combat results (recon, arty spotting, etc) Definitely. But I think the effectiveness loss is an ok'ish way to simulate recon, spotting, etc... as long as it is limited to a -1 per turn! Air concentration makes absolutely no sens...

Re: So, work in progress.

I think small garrisons costing 1 upkeep and not being able to disband them is ridiculous. It would be better to actually give them a worthwhile task, like defeating local rebellions and strikes. Maybe if you disband the small garrison, you run the risk of a worker strike destroying a city's produc...

Re: So, work in progress.

Well, have you found a way to make sure the AI DOW Belgium as the CP? I hate to end up with a lame AI that fails to follow basic historical events. Also, I hate to nag but I know you had a way to display hex coordinates on clicking? Any chances you send me the code for this, could speed some stuff u...

Re: So, work in progress.

Ok, more info on new events, this time about neutrals. 1. If at any point in 1915 Italy is neutral, but Paris is occupied by the CP, there will be a 50% chance that the conservative government in Italy will collapse and the new government takes a pro-german stance. This will be rare, the event has o...

Re: starting units Serbia and AH

On the Pc version you can choose if you want the AI be normal, or "priviliged". In the latter case the AI gets a larger rail capacity and some small PP boost. Perhaps that's how the mobile version has it as default?

Changing original hex owner?

Well, I'm asking mostly because I'm trying to include new factions that may emerge during the game, for example the Transcaucasian Republic and its war against Turkey. The game does base the production and especially deployment of new units on the "original ower" of the city hex. Is there a script t...

Re: So, work in progress.

I may consider removing the german fighter in Prussia from the 1914 scenario then. I will be reviewing some starting unit numbers at the final stages of the mod. In other news: - Two new cities (Lodz and Lublin) in the Polish territorries of Russia (Magnitogorsk removed, central Russia PP cities alt...

Re: So, work in progress.

Well, its taking longer than expected, mostly for 3 reasons: 1) I'm no pro graphic expert and the unit graphics for the new states took some time 2) testing takes longer, cause I'm just 1 person doing them and some of the scripts in the game are a bit wacky. 3) Its not like I don't have a RL job :P ...

Re: So, work in progress.

Was considering the Senussi campaign, but the game's engine makes campaigns away from major supply points tricky. I had to jump through some hoops to make the Mesopotamian campaign feasible from the british side. Bread riots and strikes for Austria Hungary when it starts reaching very low morale. Oh...

Re: Great War Stukas? B-52's?

I'd rather see the air units not deal damage, but influence subsequent combat results (recon, arty spotting, etc). In one way, this does often come close as the efficiency drop from AC is often more severe than the damage lost. Still, I wonder what can be done about this. I'll take a look in my mod ...

Re: So, work in progress.

Been recently distracted by a different game (grand naval wargame 1900-1925 by a different studio, so won't mention it at lenght here out of politeness). But I'm still working on the mod. Currently, I want to express my plans plan to include some random alternative events to spice things up a bit an...

Re: So, work in progress.

Other changes being tested: 1) Random chance for some minor nations getting involved in the war. I try to keep these either rare, or linked to historical events (France nearly invaded Switzerland over Swiss mediation regarding Russia exiting the war, Dennmaark contemplating joining the allies in 191...

Re: So, work in progress.

The small garrisons didn't have an upkeep until 1.6 Also, why do you think there should be a moral penalty for disbanding a dreadnought? Yeah I know about the small garrisons in 1.6. I would prefer them to be free to avoid gamey-tactics of disbanding them for cash savings. What is making me think t...

Re: CTGW expansion ?

@Sabratha: Sorry, but I'm puzzled about what exactly you are trying to imply by your post. Whenever I had my game (PC Version) crash due to that naval AI- bug I mentioned in the Tech-Support-subforum, reloading the game from autosave and ending it the same way produced the exact same crash accordin...

Re: So, work in progress.

More changes: 1) After some testing, I've decided to drop Kuwait as a faction and just spawn a small arab garrison belonging to Britain at said hex. Reason being that Kuwait's forces played a very small part in the war and gameplay-wise Kuwait would never be able to build any meaningfull units, inst...

Re: CTGW expansion ?

In the latter case I'd be glad to to hear how the ".ai" files in \data\scripts\AI can be editied since opening them in an editor like Notepad++ only produces scrambled characters (these are no standard lua-textfiles). At least my last crash-log referred to one of these files (namely "targeting_and_...

Re: So, work in progress.

Hm... I don't think I have witnessed that AI bug yet. Or if I did, it was a crash that did not reoccur after reloading. I stopped playing Commander: Europe at War because of AI naval crashes and freezes, but I have not experienced anything like that in this game. Having said that, if you spot the bu...
