Re: Panzer Corps comes to Steam

Unfortunately registering won't work, because I already registered via Multiplayer ages ago. I have contacted the support for this. Just wait and see!

Re: Panzer Corps comes to Steam

It depends on the achievement. Something with a counter for say kills would only start from when the code was added which is 1.23 but others which check the current state rather than a counter will work. Thanks a lot! :) Fortunately that has got nothing to do with the Steam release... :D To repeat ...

Re: Panzer Corps comes to Steam

Will the counter for the achievements start at "0" when registering the game at steam or will any progress up to then be included? I assume the first, but just to be sure. I registered the serial numbers via multiplayer. Do I have to register them anew via the link? If yes, do I have to regis...

Re: Units I have learned to love

...Maybe in the long term I'll cash in the mobile AA's for some Tiger II's. Maybe you should consider waiting for Möbelwagen, Ostwind and Wirbelwind? They have a Pz IV chassis and are pretty good at defending against infantry, while protecting neighboring units against air attacks. *** I like the S...

Re: West 44 DDay - How long to hold Beaches?

You have to hold the beaches for AT LEAST one turn each, but not necessarily at the same time. It doesn't matter if you still hold them at the last turn or not. Are you sure about that? I can't imagine winning this scenario is that easy. :) Also, anyone managed to hold 3 whole beaches to the end? I...

Re: West 44 DDay - How long to hold Beaches?

You don't have to control the beaches all the time (which is impossible), only at the end of the game (and only two of them).

Re: DLC '44 West #03: Monte Cassino

There is an error on the map, location 20,22. The terrain looks like clear terrain, but it is forest. Just learned this the hard way. Nearly lost a SE Pz IVJ there (down to 1 strenght), when attacked by two US 43 Infantry. :x Well, sh... happens... But honestly: Does anyone control the terrain ever...

Re: What options do you play on?

I play various GC campaigns on various difficulties. Mainly on Field Marshal or General, one on Rommel, but I am afraid that will be unfinished after '43... I have tried Guderian, but five turns less are too much, at least for me. So I am trying my own difficulty (I call it "Kesselring" :), u...

Re: Too little prestige!!

Maybe you will have a look at deducter's videos. He uses his own modified equipment file. The prestige income with his mod is even less.

Maybe that might help you a bit and gives you some ideas. Good luck!

Re: Too little prestige!!

At the start of the Grand Campaign you don't have that much prestige, especially when you are playing at "Rommel" difficulty. But if you don't have that many losses and win DVs, you will normally get along fine with the prestige during '39. Reasons for low prestige are f.e. too many losses, lots of ...

I asked a similar question some time ago. Here http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=121&t=45477#p430717 The most interesting post was Rudankort's: Getting a hero is equiprobable within the range [HeroKillsMin; HeroKillsMax]. Re: AA defended by arty...how to beat?

In such cases I use artillery to suppress the enemy artillery. A second artillery (if possible) should prepare the attack on the AA. If there is enough suppression a tactical bomber could add further damage. Depending on the defensive terrain Infantry or tanks finish the job. If you deal with the so...

Problem solved (at least with the slitherine updater): Turning off the VPN was the solution.

Re: Oleh Dir upgrade to Grenadier

I always upgrade Oleh Dir to Grenadier in 1941. You only loose one MP (he has got five instead of six now), but you earn more combat strength and a slightly higher initiative (he has a bonus on that one, too). If you prefer mobility, you might change him into cavalry or Kradschützen. I never tried t...

Will there be one in a future patch?

Re: panzer corp 42-43 West messina

It is allright to get the Italian units across. 18 ground units are required, BUT you also have to control five objectives. That might be the problem. That's why it is essential to keep alive as many italian units as possible in the scenarios before. Just with german units it is impossible to win a ...

Re: bomber hero 1.21 (spoiler) bug

I use Rudel 1 in nearly every scenario up to (and inluding) Minsk. From then on I don't use him anymore. Maybe it is useful continue using him (although two Rudel are somehow weird... ;)), for he may receive a second hero (maybe a useful one). Right now in one of my campaigns I am actually starting ...

Re: Do you use recon and anti air units in the GC?

By the way: It is possible to add the trait "reconmove" to the equipment file for Kavallerie and Kradschützen for example. That way they work as a recon unit. I haven't tried out yet if it is possible to reinforce them like a recon unit after undoing a move.

Re: Building a historically authentic core/corps

It really sounds interesting - and challenging (for you don't have that much tanks as usual). I think I will give it a try starting with GC 39. But I have a few questions. How about the SS units. In general SS divisions were organized similar to Heer divisons. The differences don't play a role at th...
