I wonder how many times this point will be raised  By my memory it is 5 times now  Sorry, I didn't have time to read the last pages of the forum. But also I don't understand why it is still not modified in the html manual, since this is why Slitherine use html format, to be able to keep ...

About "flanks"

The Melee Combat rules says this : flank : troops other than light foot or light horse attacking an enemy other than light foot or light horse in their flank get +1 against an enemy who are unable to turn to face the attacker I don't see any appearance of the word "flank" in Combat Mechanism rule. I...

Re: Impact POA - Specific questions

3. Is battle wagon considered a light chariot or a heavy chariot troup type? They are a type in themselves 5. The rules say that elephants get +1 POA when charging « against heavy or medium foot, battle wagons or any mounted ». Does "any mounted" include elephants and heavy or scythed chariots? Yes...

POA's cancel each other out, so if you go into a combat with a +POA and your opponent gets a +POA they cancel each other and you go in even with no POA's. If you have the same troop types charging each other with the same POA's they will cancel out so no one has a POA. Each +POA one side gets gives...

That's why I try to summarize the POA in one simple table. The way it is explained in the rules impose to the player to calculate too much (although the calculation remains simple).

Here are more specific questions about Impact Combat rules : 1. Do shock troops include heavy weapons? 2. Do mounted shock troops include elephants or heavy or scythed chariots? 3. Is battle wagon considered a light chariot or a heavy chariot troup type? 4. Can we find, in the game, some medium foot...

Impact POA - General questions

OK guys, I am trying to summarize the impact POA rules (listed on the Impact Combat HTML help page). There are a lot of things that are not clear to me, and I need to understand all the details to get the whole picture. So let’s begin with four general questions: 1. Are the advantages of mounted tro...

Bowmen placing stakes

The rules say that a bow unit using stakes don't get any benefit against foot troops.

Then what is the use of those stakes : protect the unit against arrows ? against cavalry charge ?

It would be interesting to know what was the historical use of field heavy artillery (out of a siege situation). With the actual restraints, the HA would just serve to protect the camp.

But I appreciate the fact that light artillery can move on the battlefield.

Chariots adjacent to enemy at the end of a turn

I read in the "What new" file that :

At the end of a player turn, scythed chariots that are adjacent to unbroken enemies and have not moved that player turn are eliminated.

Does this rule applies only to the scythed chariots or to every kind of chariots ?
