Re: recon in russia 1941-1942? also % of air force

Recon units can be useful. Especially in defensive scenarios. Watch some of Deducter's AAR videos for hints on how to use recon. I always have at least one 88 with maximum experience. Again in the defensive scenario, they are necessary.

As for % for air force, I agree with Anfield, about 25%.

Good suggestion. Afrika corps is unique in that you can use the Italians as part of your corps. It is useful to know of another unit one can add. Thanks.

Re: Supply and end turn button should be further appart

Big smile, I am so glad to hear I am not the only one! I have often thought it might be more practical to have the end turn button elsewhere. Not sure if this could easily be incorporated into a future patch.

Re: The Joy of Artillery

Interesting ratio. I used to be heavy with Tanks and ran a 2:1 ratio between tanks/infantry and artillery. My latest run through the DLC's has me being very heavy with infantry, and keeping the same tank/infantry ratio to artillery.

Re: What options do you play on?

Playing the DLC's, I like playing on General, reform units (so I will not lose units due to carelessness) and to keep my blood pressure under control I use the limited randomness (dice roll).

Re: Panzer Corps Time line

Okiemcquire, how are you managing the bouncing between the scenarios? Does your core composition change very much between the theatres? I am intrigued, but lack the time to devout to an undertaking such as this. Would have made an epic AAR

Re: No Game-play or 'what if logic'! Rubbish!

Wow, I have enjoyed this game so much. I have the original, Africa Corps, Allied Corps and all the DLC's. Now that is a lot of game to play through. I have not even tried the mods.

I suspect I am one of the majority that hugely enjoy the game without being caught up in minor issues such as this.

I think something from '42 would be interesting. Although there is not many AAR's on the western front.

Re: Half Traks vs Lorries/Favourite Infantry

I like the Wehrmacht infantry. Throw in a couple of Pioneers and/or grenadiers. I prefer the half-tracks. (Nothing like rolling across country behind a screen of Panzers.) Depends on where I am with Prestige. Also SE infantry units usually come with half-tracks.

Re: Building a historically authentic core/corps

@ the_iron_duke, let us know how you are doing as you progress through the DLC's. I use a hybrid system. Currently in DLC 43, using 4 "divisions" comprising of 2 panzer units, 2 inf and 2 artillery (1 towed and 1 self propelled). I have an Independent group that varies in composition. My SE are grou...

Re: The Diary of Herr Wüstenfuchs

July 9th 1942 (3) Heading towards the gap between Malta and Gozo we have spotted ships of the expected convoy. Far from being unarmed merchant ships these are fully armed Royal Navy war ships! All Naval assets have been signalled to engage the enemy and I have personally spoken to Victor Klink and ...

You should be okay. Although the auxiliary Italians infantry is not very good. Besides a little excitement is not a bad thing!
