Re: Boot Camp last turn crash

That sounds very much like the situation I just had on the last turn of my Marines campaign. After victory was declared at Iwo Jima, I was back at the loading screen with nowhere to go. I had to press Esc to exit. Tried to reload it, same thing if I enter my last game. If you could use a save, pleas...

Yes, I love the carryover of units throughout the campaign. Being able to rename them is also a plus. Makes you try to protect your "men" all the more!

Re: need help please new Georgia

I had trouble with that one, too. Take the small airfield & port area on the main island first. You MUST take the island across the bay/channel. Use a couple of destroyers and a gun ship to bombard the port area in the SE. A few marine units will generally work after sufficiently softening them up. ...

Re: Order of Battle on Older Mac

Downloaded & installed the new version. Started the Marines campaign. Not very many forces, of course, and I have not extensively tested it, but, so far, all seems fine. Screen, of course, is a lot smaller 13.3 VS 24". Plays well.

Re: Order of Battle on Older Mac

That's a good question. I have a MacBook Air as well. Was thinking about purchasing the Mac version of the game "for the road." Never tried any games on my Mac, so am hesitant.

Sounds absolutely fantastic! I look forward to it all. As it stands, OOB Pacific is my favorite PC game. Looks like it will only get better. Thanks!

Nuclear Bomber

After an aborted Allies campaign - due to the US Marines release which I played through - I restarted the Allies campaign. For the first time, I am playing the Japan invasion scenario. Purchased a nuclear bomber. I have to admit, I did this just to see what happens -- bombed a Japanese unit, and lik...

Have you tried the 2.4 patch? I just got through playing the Midway scenario as the Allies. Worked fine. On to Guadalcanal!

Re: Philippines Campaign 1941

Erik -- I just download this. Placed the folder in the game directory under "Campaigns" - along w/tutorial, allies, japan, etc. When I launch the game and go to Single Player, I don't see it anywhere. What might I be doing incorrectly?

My Compliments to the Chef[s]!

Back when I was a kid, my brother & I used to play all kinds of board games, from Monopoly & Clue, to sports games [Strat-O-Matic], to our favorites, strategic & tactical Avalon Hill war games. Even after I had kids, continued playing -- with them -- 1776, Geronimo, Panzer Blitz, etc. Once the PC ca...

Re: Units are colored

The only reason I know of that a unit would change color is because of increasing lack of cohesion due to battle fatigue, being out of supply, constantly on the move, etc.

Re: US marines - repairing airfields/infrastructure?

So, is there a way to build an airfield in the game? Lord knows that it is something of a necessity in the Marines Campaign ... no carriers, no airstrip = no airplanes, unless you wait until the last 12 turns so that they don't run out of fuel. I would suggest some kind of limited capability for Sea...
