Re: Beyond the Fringe Tournament - ISSUE FIXED

I would like to request that you start the 10 day per round tournaments on Fridays. That will give everyone two whole weekends to complete their games. I am sure most folks who work can do many more turns on the weekends than during the week. And, with 8-10 hour timezone differences, my experience i...

Re: Beyond the Fringe Tournament - ISSUE FIXED

Is it ok to join the third tournament now, if we are already in the first tournament? I know you wanted to give new folks a chance to join up, but it is only half full as of Saturday at 10am PDT.

Just curious. Thanks!

Re: HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone!

So, Field of Glory has a sale two weeks after it's released? That's pretty bad form to do this for a brand new release. Usually brand new games are exempt from sales so soon after release. It's a punch in the stomach to all of us fans who purchase as soon as a game releases. For it to go on sale two...

Re: Ideas for how to learn the game?

I'm wondering if the Seleucids might be a bit confusing for a 'beginner'? I agree that Romans are a good choice, also maybe try the Gauls - pretty effective Warband and Cavalry, and relatively simple to use! Why do you say this, please? I am interested in knowing what about the Seleucids would be c...

Re: Field of Glory II Tournament

Ok. I was hoping you could extend this tournament to 10 days also, since it hasn't started yet.

Re: Field of Glory II Tournament

Good morning. Is there any chance of extending this tournament to 10 days per round? I agree with the person that said having two weekends is essential to having enough time to complete the games. It's really tough with all the different time zones that we get in these tournaments. I'm in California...

Re: The Lack of Generals

As I say, it is something that is under consideration. Thanks. It is not as big a deal once you know the gaming trick. The problem is though that it really shouldn't be necessary to "know the gaming trick" in order to play the game effectively. I do hope that RBS will rethink this one, as h...

Re: Does this game have sideslip maneuvers?

Yes, but a slight turn to one side, then a slight turn back isn't really the same. Sideslips let you maintain your forward facing, so your firing arcs remain the same throughout the maneuver.

A slight turn, then back, may move a ship out of your firing arc for a round.

Re: Does this game have sideslip maneuvers?

I guess I'm just comparing it to the old board game "Star Fleet Battles". That game modeled Star Trek ships, from fighters to frigates to dreadnaughts.

All of them could do sideslip maneuvers. Oh well, no biggie. BSG is just not the game for me, unfortunately. It looks fun.

I just played in the latest Heroes of Normandie tournament, and that one had lots of scoring issues, too.

When I click on it, it says "unauthorized". Apparently it is still locked from the beta.

Does this game have sideslip maneuvers?

I just realized that this game is made by the same developers that made Starhammer. Have you added sideslip maneuvers to BSG: Deadlock? That was sorely left out of Starhammer, and I commented strongly about it when Starhammer first came out. I sure hope sideslips are a maneuver now, otherwise this g...

I strongly second this request to zoom to the cursor, please. That should be standard in ALL strategy/tactical games like this with a large map.

Re: Heroes of Normandie - Join the First Blood Tournament!

I must agree. One of my games already timed out, and the other game I only have 35 minutes left! And, the tournament still has days to go. What a bunch of hooey. Also, my timed out game still remains in my "My Games" list. When I click on Play to see the last turn, the game gets stuck on the loading...

Re: Heroes of Normandie - Join the First Blood Tournament!

You also need to extend the play time WAY more than three days. Three days for a 10 day tournament is ridiculous. We should have 10 days to complete our game, no matter how long it takes us to do our turns. A countdown timer is completely counter-intuitive to a timed tournament. It is very difficult...

Re: Heroes of Normandie - Join the First Blood Tournament!

Ok. Round two just ended for my games. My opponent only took one action phase in one of the games. In the other game he did nothing except assign his initial orders to the units. We never completed a singe turn, and both games timed out on his turn. I got 15 points and he got 5 points in each game. ...

Re: Heroes of Normandie - Join the First Blood Tournament!

Thank you for providing the gory details of our game, pantherboy. That really helps. So, I guess the game where I at least killed a couple of your units was not enough to provide me with even a single tournament point. Like I said, I'm so embarrassed, and am slapping myself for not reviewing the gam...
